I just replaced my stock Infinity head unit with a Pioneer one, and everything went well and sounds great. However, I was left with a gray cable with what looked like a 3.5mm jack on the end with no contours (not the antenna), and another microphone-like cable that wasn't used by the wiring harness I got. Anyone know what these do or if I should worry about them?

The microphone looking one is to the stock amplifier. If i remember right, the gray one is your diversity antenna (in the rear glass). You can get an adapter and a Y splitter cable to connect both to the (1) antenna port on your head unit. With this set-up I rarely put my mast up and get great reception. (which is nice cause those POS's always break). I would be interested to know what head unit you bought and how many RCA outs it has and how you wired it.

Turns out the extra wire was for a CD changer my car didn't come with, I didn't even know 2g's came with CD changers so that was news to me LOL
Also didn't know it used the rear window for radio reception, I'll have to try and find a splitter for that because my radio reception is garbage now, which makes sense.

That's the head unit I got.

I used these to wire it in.

that should work! do your front tweeters work?

Yeah i pretty much dont even put the mast up anymore. The window antenna does great.

Yeah, from what I understand there is an internal crossover in the stock Infinity head unit, so now they are getting full range audio signal and lost a lot of clarity. I have never tuned gain on something other than a subwoofer so that was a first
