Here's the quick story. Car is a 97 Gst manual. Swapped out the engine harness with an automatic 97 gst harness because of manual harness being hacked. The car cranked before with the manual harness. Now with the automatic harness, I have no crank. I've read pretty much all of the auto harness in a manual car and the easiest way is to jumper the starter relay plug black/yellow with the big back/red. Did that and turn the key to crank it but I get nothing. I can jump the starter by running a wire from the battery to the black/yellow wire. What am I missing?

I have read that one already. Ive tried a jumper wire on the auto transmission plug (both middle outer) as well and still get nothing.

Ok then put a test light on the plug and turn the key to the starting point, the test light should light up, if it doesn't then check which pin does this way you know you are getting power from the switch., If you are not getting power then you didn't hook up the starter relay or you didn't plug something.

I just checked for power on the starter relay plug. I am getting power from the 2 black/red out of the 3. Put the test light on the park neutral switch pin 5(black/red) and I am getting power. When I turn the key, I get no click from the relay. That is with the jumper wire on park neutral switch(pin 5&8) and starter relay in place. I tested the relay and it does click. What else do I look for?

Ok wait a minit.

First.... You have to figure out what wire comes from the Ignition (starting point), which looks like you all ready figure out...

Second.... You have to figure out what wire comes from the starter (check continuity from the starter to the connector), once you figure out which one is it, then jump a wire from the starting wire to the starter wire and you are set.

Hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Well I did some more testing on the starter relay plug and the 2 black/red wire that gets power seems to shut off power when I turn the key to start or when I press in the clutch pedal. What causes this?
