After a conversation with ZF SACHS I decided to go with these: http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=142045902317

I could not be happier with them! The hood lifts on it own and lifts the hood a good 3" higher than the stick can. They are perfect for 1Gs. This was installed on my 90 talon. I had to weld the ball stud in so it would clear everything. Would bind if I put it on the hood bracket. The metal is really just too thin to tap where I have it. First welds in a few months so they aren't the best but it works great! I'm really happy with how they look and feel. I'll be cleaning up the welds and painting the area when I get around to painting the car.

Here's the ball studs I used: https://www.amazon.com/10MM-Ball-threads-Spring-Strut/dp/B004711K9I?ie=UTF8&dpID=51EzknmvV7L&dpPl=1&keywords=10mm ball stud m6&pi=SX200_QL40&qid=1464618963&ref=plSrch&ref_=mp_s_a_1_1&ref_=redir_mobile_desktop&sr=8-1

The links not working. What year accord?

I believe it was a 2002-2003 Acura TL

I'm gonna see how a new set works with my carbon fiber hood. I have a feeling my going to have the same lift force as I did with the crown vic struts on a my OEM hood...

I would liked to of found a decent used set in the junkyard to try but, I was only able to find one Acura TL and both the struts were completely shot, so i realized pretty quick it's not even worth scavenging salvage yards for.

See if you can get it to work on the hood bracket. Too much force on a carbon hood will cause it to deform. Try to find some 35lb struts with the same dimensions maybe or just get those and attach them to the hood bracket.
