So I recently picked up a 1g TSI awd, and it will need new suspension here in a few months, so i'm keeping my eyes open on what to get, i've been in the EVO scene for a few years now, but recently going back in time to a talon.

The question is, If i'm looking to spend $300-$600 on new suspension (all the way around the car) what would be the best bet for those price ranges?

I don't do autocross or plan on it, just want something that rides decently smooth, but I want to be a LITTLE lower than stock.. maybe 1-2"

Thanks in advance Everyone!!

Idk about everyone else, but my setup was cheap and actually handles decent for the street, and is pretty comfy. I just got some basic struts off ebay (stagg) and am running some megan lowering springs on them. It's not performance by any means, but better than stock height and rides well.

Eventually I'll be going with a set of feal coilovers, but that's not till next year prolly.

Could go with kyb agx's and your choice of spring, the GC coils seem to be popular but they're a little higher in price.

Would you mind pointing me into the right direction? On eBay and Amazon I looked up stagg struts and shocks and what not and can't find anything for a 92 tsi Awd. Maybe I'm just blind!

Looks like they switched names to AST. Just search eBay for "92 gsx struts", there's sets of AST struts, frt and rr, for about 160 shipped. They'll work for a short while, but don't expect performance or being able to dump the car with them. They're definitely cheap, but better than blown stockers.

You could always wait a bit longer, save a few hundred extra and get feals (~13-1500 a set for 1gs) and bypass the stock replacements.

I installed some KYB AGX with some Eibach sport line springs. A bit dissapointed with the drop to be honest. Also, for the price of all the components, I wish I would have just went with Feal Coilovers.

x2 on what rex said, I'm running agxs on stock springs and I'm not happy with the ride at all, I had it on TEIN -S lowering springs and that dropped it about 2" and I couldn't even pull into my works driveway comfortably. I honestly wish I would of just done coilovers to start
