So Here is a diagram I found while searching and reading threads about this for the past 4 hours....:hellyeah::dsm:

From what I have gathered this is a cheap way to stop the EGR from functioning as it should.(the previous owner couldnt afford a 20$ block off plate? WTF? whatever, I digress) The two lines, White (W) and Green (G) run to the EGR solenoid. As you can see my White line is capped and the green line is NOT

Is the green vac line leaking boost? should I cap it? My Purge EVAP solenoid and unit is still hooked up and functioning fine. Maybe that's why the previous owner decided to go this route, since if you will notice the Yellow (Y) line connects to both the purge solenoid and EVAP unit and the EGR solenoid by a T

If I block off the EGR will my Purge Unit fail or not function correctly since they are connected?

I need some explanation here guys.

If I delete the EGR unit entirely but keep the EGR solenoid I can remove the T and run a single hose from the Purge control valve to the EGR solenoid to preserve the purge solenoid which is my my goal.

Ultimatly what worrys me is the Yellow line, why does it T into both units (EGR and Purge control valve)

I just removed all of it. I have a blockoff plate in between my egr and throttle body. No need to cap the egr if its blocked off. I have only 4 vac lines in my car. One from the intake to bov, one to the fuel pressure regulator, and 2 from boost controller to turbo/wastegate. And my boost gauge teed into fpr line. Just remove and cap everything on the throttlebody/intake except for the 2 i have on mine as well.

I really do not want to remove all of it though I am trying to keep the car stock as possible,
I just want to know If the Green Line Is leaking boost?

And I want to know If Blocking off the EGR will cause the Purge control valve to mis-function.

SO what did you conclude at the end??

Were u able to remove the EGR with no consequences?¡

Please share what you did..

I just bought a 2g turbo, and I'm wondering why all these vacuum lines are blocked off. Why would the previous owner have done this?
Unless you have emissions testing in your area, better question is why they wouldn't have bypassed all the extra vacuum lines.

You basically only need the brake booster, fuel pressure regulator, pcv, blow off valve, and boost control vacuum lines.

You can remove a significant amount of them and simplify every thing. Deleting the egr makes tuning easier, and keeps crap out of the intake manifold.

Iam running into the same issue last owner did a 1g Intake manifold and I have vaccum T”s everywhere there vaccum being taken from the booster too and it seems like it’s making my brakes week is there a diagram to the booster vacuum lines

This is a pretty good general vacuum routing guide....

And the booster line is a dedicated line. It shouldn't have any tee's in it.
