Looking for suggestions on what works best on a budget. No chinese crap or knockoffs but also dont need something crazy.
Going to be running e85 and goal of 600ish hp. Currently in the 4's on a stock regulator pump gas.
Will be dual 255's.
Also suggestions on filter and rail.
Car is a 91.

Thanks for the not at all helpful comment. Budgets come in all sizes. Obviously i am on a 600hp budget not a who cares its only money budget.

If you list a price for your budget we can help a little more, but 600hp can be done cheap and not so cheap! So tell us your budget for things.

Im going to suggest fuelab, rci, aeromotive, there are many many companys out there that made good units so its a case of what you want and it looks like!

My budget consists of this.
I dont want to spend a couple hundred dollars on a regulator that is going to just get replaced again the next time i get bored with the hp level of my car.
So, if there is something that is either cheaper then most but still works well or has enough headroom to support my next phase then thats what i am looking for.
I don't want garbage parts but i also don't intend on blowing excessive amounts of money on this car and i know i can do it cheaper the just buying the first thing i find. I got way too many hobbies that need my wallet.

And just throwing out all the major brands of regulators doesn't help anything either. I know who makes them.
Pick one and give me a reason why its your choice.

Appearance has no value on this car also.

The top brands are all more or less equal. Pick which ever style you like. It aint rocket science.

Are you kidding me? They're going to be basically the same for what your looking to do. Your looking to make baby power which most standard regulators will more than meet and exceed your power expectations.

All it is, is a simple diaphragm and spring. There are other thing but they wont pertain to you for the small size pumps you plan on running

I have the STM Fuelab kit and although I'm not making tons of power, I don't see why it wouldn't take you to your goal and beyond. Not sure if it's in the price range that you have in mind ($270), but it's a bolt-on kit that comes with -6AN fittings and hoses.

That said you can just buy a -6AN fuel rail adapter and make your own lines and fittings for less. Either the Fuelab or Aeromotive AFPRs will be fine. I believe Twicks' 2G runs an Aeromotive unit with -6AN lines and he makes over 1000whp.

I just want an opinion. What one do you like and why. I know they all do the same thing, but there is differences in them. Yes they do the same thing the same way.
Theres still differences in them. They are not all exact copies of one another.

So, anyone have an opinion other then "they are all the same bs"

I have put down over 300whp on my Fuelab regulator . seriously though, I chose Fuelab because they are great quality and I find them aesthetically pleasing, and many color options ( so I got black ). I have not had any issues with it either.

Any name brand AFPR will work. They're very simple designs, nothing to go crazy with. I would buy new though, some used AFPRs have problems with torn diaphragms or rough sealing surfaces.

I've had Aeromotive and Fuel Lab and didn't have a problem with either. I'm currently running a Fuel Lab setup from STM and haven't had any issues whatsoever so I would recommend that setup.

An aftermarket fpr is really needed at 600? I have seen numerous evo 8s with high 500whp to 600 on stock fpr and they sell for like $20

Evos run a dual voltage setup from the factory so they can get away with using the stock fpr. DSMs dont so we need an aftermarket one.

Fuel lab is cheap but has vacuum/boost leak issues mine does from time to time I have to check it or remove and rewrap with Teflon periodically I have seen Dsm's run up 5-600 hp on stock regulators in good condition have seen them fail as well most put a regulator on and still end up running the same fuel pressure as stock I never seen the point of that.

I'd like to see those DSMs making that much power on the stock regulator.

Also the reason you have to keep wrapping it with new teflon tape is because it's a lubricant not a sealant, it also gets broken down over time by gasoline. That's not the regulator's fault.
