Im new here but i know theres a lot of smart people and i would like help with this problem, Idle is fine at 800-1000rpms but when trying to accelerate it bogs like it wants to die my guess is it's running too lean but idk why???

I think i will go with the matching everything idea, except wiring because it's mostly all the same and i would never have time to switch the wiring

1)Can the cam sensor from the 2.0 figure out it will be single cam? I would rather not mess with the cam or crank, i want to leave the 2.4 cam and crank so in there but i rather have 2.0 gst ECU, injectors, and maf and i can also try all intake mani sensors

use the injectors and MAF from the 2.0 (injectors, and maf need to match the ECU)

it will run 'better' that way. and given enough time for the ecu to figure out what is going on. it will run 'right'ish. it is still a bigger motor but .4l isnt enough to make the ecu not be able to compensate. the worst part will be the ECU will have boost tables that go over 100%. really though that will not matter as you are going to a non turbo engine. when we go the other way, (turbo engine in a non turbo car) it causes more issues.

thats extra work for a simple motor swap to a compatible but slightly larger motor. not necessary.

.4l is not enough to matter, you want the ECU to THINK it still has the 2.0l in the car. ALL THE SENSORS, INJECTORS, MAF, ETC. need to match the ECU. the ECU will deal with the extra .4l and no turbo over time. (it will not take long for the ECU to have the engine running good.)
i got YOU and the OP mixed up at one point.
yes if it is already completely the 2.4l electronics it would be good to get the 2.4l ECU in there.

either way what i am saying holds true, the MAF, INJECTORS, AND ECU NEED TO MATCH.[/QUOTE////so should i gap the plugs to the 2.0 or 2.4??

as for how a cam sensor works it does not matter if it is triggered of a DOHC or SOHC. what might matter is the location of the trigger. if you want to go to the effort of aligning timing marks and comparing you could do that. i think i would just plug it in and see what happens. maybe check timing with a timing light and an obd2 scan tool if you want to get sorta fancy.

I just need the 2.0 injectors, i have a maf sensor with 89k miles from another gst because the one i had was no good, but gap on the plugs should match the 2.0 then? Or 2.4 because 2.0 gap is like .44 and 2.4 is .32 or .38 can't remember but the 2.4 is smaller gap for sure and wouldn't it cause me some misfiring?

2.0 maf sensor, injectors, ECU,
Idle is actually 1,500 which i dont mind because throttle response is awesome! And no bogging or dying at all!
This is my first engine swap, no check engine so far LOL
My next project will be a hard top GST to 400hp is my goal.

I can actually hear a vacuum leak after the throttle body but i cant find it, its the loudest by the PEA hoses but they look good and i sprayed b12 on them but nothing happens no idle change
