Bought myself an Eclipse GS 1993mod and i wonder what size rims i should buy? I have koni dampers and gonna put on some 25mm drop springs. I Was thinking about some Rota rims, but i dont know what size rims to fit and what offset they should have. The rims and tires cannot be wider than the car itself. I was hoping i could fit 17-18" size rims and some 225mm wide tires or wider. Any suggestions?

What do you use the car for? Daily driver? Racing? We need to know what your going to use the car for to recommend a wheel / tire setup correctly.

If it's a daily driver you'll probably want a little more side wall on the tire (smaller rim). If your going to road race or auto cross race it you'll want a wide rim. There's a bunch of variables. A good all around setup would be 17 x 7 wheel size with a 225/40r17 tire.

Thanks for the quick answer! I wanna use it for sporty road use. What offset should i use?

For 17 x 7 I'd use a 35mm - 40mm offset. If you search google for EVO 8 wheels on a 1g, you can get an idea of what a 17 x 8 with 38mm offset looks like. They protrude past the fenders a little. 7" rim wouldn't protrude at all if anything, since they are 1" thinner. A You can run a 225/45r17 on a 17 x 7 with excellent fit. You'll also be ok with those 25mm (1") lowering springs. Just make sure you get an alignment after you install the springs or you'll have tire wear issues.

So i wouldn't be able to fit 18" rims? I Like the rims to fill the gap. In Norway the rims\wheels can't protrude the fenders at all because of the EU rules. But what about if i use have 8" width with 40mm offset, would that fit and not protrude past the fenders?
