Picking up car today after Brad Abele built me a badass 10pt chromoly cage and mounted seats low....

Dash and gauges all hooked back up. Also installed headliner. Complete PITA. Interference fit. LOL. Hate putting weight back in, but the race in march requires interior. Carpet and center console will be installed after the nitrous wiring is complete.

Yesterday, I removed the hatch glass from the parts car to install in fiberglass hatch (pictured.) Test fitting hatch today. Working on quik-latches next, then gluing in glass. Also robbed the 2g center panel from parts car. Still need to get the glue off the lettering.

Found a monkey in my bars....

Had some fun over the last week. Wired up nitrous and brake vac pump. 35 shot did wonders on stall time. Did some test hits and broke a tooth off the transfer gear on center diff. Replaced the two outer gears this weekend.

Also installed the carpet and most of the interior panels. Going to test the gears with a couple launches. If all is good, it will be loaded up on Sunday for spring break trip to Florida with the family with plans to hit PBIR king of the streets on 3/25.

PBIR was a bust because of a rainout, but had a chance to hit a test n tune at the end of my kids' spring break on the way back from FL. Only 3 passes.

First pass, didn't get enough boost off the line plus it was pig rich since I hadn't finished re-tuning after adding a second 450 and upping the base pressure. 1.89 60ft. 11.16 @127...eh.

Second, changed the two-step a little and got a little more boost but still not what I wanted. Adjusted the fuel map which looked good this time but still breaking up and some bad lifter tick/clatter (still haven't determined if from valve float or aerated oil). 1.84 60. 11.06 @128.4...double eh.

My wife required a 10 before we could leave:D So I swapped in new plugs and a 50hp nitrous pill to get the turbo going on the converter quicker vs the 35hp. Fueling looked good so didn't touch it. Lowered 2-step rpm a little since I wasn't sure how car would react to more nitrous.

50shot gets the rpms up quick to 3800 2-step, but could've used more boost or rpm. Left at 12psi and we went home with just enough...

WG boost of 35psi. Holset sucking in hot radiator air. CxRacing 4" core....160* air temps up top! Full exhaust, carpet, all seats and interior panels (except hatch), all glass, 10pt cage...3345 race weight. 2.0l, 10:1 wiseco/manley, E85. AEM v2. Dual walbro450. FIC2150. Kiggly HD springs, Kiggly HLA, Kiggly Flexplate and clutches, ForcedFour shiftbox, Precision converter.

No time for racing for a little while but I'd like to find more time to turn it up. 40psi should wake the turbo up. And a better intake setup. 60ft needs work too, but that should be easy with some more boost and rpm. Next purchase will be for straight cut transfer gears from Jeff Bush since I already smoked one set of stockers.

thanks! Have some work to do to catch your sig time:D

Yummy!

Jeff Bush drivetrain parts; it's what's for dinner

Scene of the crime this weekend...

Assembled and painted.

Now I need 3.5" intercooler piping to match the TB

$100 locally for the mani:)
IMG_3283.JPG

Requires some adjustments including: making spacers for throttle cable, mounting coil packs (just drilling and tapping mani, LOL), quick bracket for PTU and modding intercooler piping. (none of that is complete in this pic)

Drove all over locally looking for 1/16 npt plugs to block off direct port nitrous holes. Smallest was 1/8, so ordered them from amazon along with a Q45 gasket and a .041 nitrous jet (75hp)...just in case.

Love it! I've missed a bit, but nice work one of my fav builds, maybe I should scrap my DSM shell I love GT cars even though I never seem to buy them.

SO next weekend you will be up and running again:?

Let me know if you want a set of swap mounts. Best of both worlds...GT looks, GT rear end, 4g revs and mods.

Lots to do but yes, making track rental at Milan, MI on the 14th:D

Trans is going back in tonight with a new Kiggly flex plate (loosened crank bolts killed my last flexplate). Mod intercooler piping for frh intake tomorrow. Then test new trans gears. Sunday eve pulling head for tmz dowel inserts (aluminum is smashing/mushrooming when torquing). Machine shop is ready for me next week. Then re-install head thursday eve before getting it on the trailer Friday. Somewhere in there finish building a headlight intake to get rid of 160* air intake temps.

Oh yea, and my actual job to fund this addiction.

If anyone watching has a T3 Super 94 or 99 for sale...hook me up:D

Awesome progress as always. I'm always glad to keep seeing progress on this build. The cage looks really nice, i'm surprised it still weighs as little as it does considering.

Do you have any more pics or info on the transfer gears? I can't say I've heard of that problem before. Did you get them directly from Jeff Bush? I don't know if asking about pricing here is appropriate but i am very curious. Also I would really like to see more details on the dowel insert install too.

I wish it weighed less! Not too bad I guess for full interior panels, carpet, seats, cage. robust 3000gt rear diff, auto, street wheels/tires, stock appearing exterior, etc.

I think Jeff's Facebook page selling the gears and other goodies is J. Bush Designs. $1250 if I recall for the gears. It's common to strip off a gear or two on the autos after many launches. I was lucky and it didn't destroy my case last time.

Not the most fun thing to install with garage tools but I got it done. Also the Tcase brace needed some grinding for clearance on my car. Some of it was because of different chassis other grinding was to make it easier to get to the bolts. Haven't installed the aluminum trans pan yet. Going to get some miles on it first then change fluid and filter and install pan.

TMZ has info on the head inserts. My machine shop built a tool to ream and spot face at the same time and to correct depth. Froze the inserts and they slipped in with light tapping.

Spoke with Michael at FP. Placing an order for a t3 Super 99 this week.:D

72x99 (FP Super99) vs 67x89 (HX40 with turbolab billet wheel)

Pics just don't do the turbine wheel and housing justice. Both offer MUCH more flow than the hx40 and BEP T3 housing.

Only complaint....FP grinds off whatever logo was on the comp housing and does not sandblast the finish to match. It's just aesthetic but for one of the, if not THE, baddest t3 turbo in existence, it should look it as well.

Get that thing on there so you can test Saturday! Kiggly will be there as well.

It's quite a haul for me, but we may make it. Just waiting for turbo oil feed and return flanges so I can get it back together...

Added a triggerdisc crank trigger and 7 bolt crank sensor but that may have to wait for another time to wire and set it up in AEM. May just continue running the 1g CAS if I make it up this weekend.
