How tall are you guys. I'm 6ft 1 and hade a hard time finding a nice seat that would fit me. I finally found pretty much brand new tan leather seats all around for really good price. My head would hit roof with srt4 seats. I don't know maybe I just need to stick with factory witch is not bad

Here are my tan OEM seats I found on craigslist for 175 for all

I love srt4 seats. I also like those jdm type r red recaros in hondas.

How hard is it to swap Evo 8 recaros in a 2g? Are custom rails needed?

Darling. They now make Evo brackets for 2G I believe they're about 1-250$.

Unless you make them yourself.

I still have not made the brackets for my seats to fit. I'm busy with finals.

Also I'm reconsidering using different seats.

Those s2000 seats are nice. Almost too nice for a dsm

Without the offset, are your seats aligned with the steering wheel and for the passenger the airbag/glovebox. Or are they off center and closer to the door. Or is the gap because the seats aren't as wide and factory 2G seats. Hope thats clear enough to understand LOL.

It's a combination actually. They feel slightly offset when you put your feet on the pedals but it's partially because you're more fixed in the actual center of the seating area due to the seat width/hug. It really doesn't bother me at all but I'm a fairly tolerant person.

i also almost forgot to mention that I am about 5'10" and I have to have my seat all the way back to be comfortable. I like my leg to be FULLY extended when the clutch hits the floor though and I slouch when I sit. The seats also sit much lower so headroom would be a plus.

Thanks for the info and the heads up bud. ill keep everything in mind when i get around to doing this.

Just a bit of information that might be helpful. Seat mounting brackets are available from www.plantedtechnology.com. They make a really nice looking mount for $149.00 and it looks to accept any seat. They are available for 1G cars. If anybody with a 2G is interested and is in the Seattle area....they are looking for someone to bring their car for 2-3 hours so that they can do the measurements and design them.

Anybody here do the 4th Gen seats? I was going to do the Celica seats as well until a 4G rolled through at work and I got to check them out. They are actually very comfortable and have a similar style as the 2000+ Celica's. Just trying to get my hands on a set now.

I don't like this style of seat bracket. The seatbelt bracket stays in one position since its bolted to the chassis even when the seat is slid forward or back. Thats why I made my own so the seat belt buckle slides with the seat. Just think about when your in an accident the seat will slide forward but the buckle will stay to the rear. How thin is your waist? LOL OEM seat belt buckles are made to move with the seat so in an accident you don't get cut in half.

Good point, I had not thought about that.

I've got a pair of Evo 8 recaros in my 2g. I used the rails from the Evo but I had to get a new bracket for them to fit.
http://wedgebrackets.com/seat-brackets-home/ <-- this is the place to go. Fast shipping and wonderful customer service. The seats mounted in now problem.

The seats fell center and flush? I made my own brackets but feel the driver seat is alil off centers with the steering wheel

Anyone know or seen RX8 bucket seats in a 2G can't seem to find a pic. I know I've seen it here somewhere.

Hey did you ever find or installed the rx8 seats you were looking for? I got a hold of some and I’d like to see if anyone has installed this in a 2g. The rails look like they will need major modifications and custom work:ohdamn:
