I've been slowly researching on how do to a g4cs 6bolt 2.4l with the 4g63t 6bolt head swap into my 98 Talon awd. It currently has a full 6bolt swap in it at the moment.

1) I'm unsure which pistons could I use for the g4cs 2.4l block?

I've been researching for the past couple of days and came to a conclusion that I could possibly use any 6 bolt(21mm pins/non stroker) pistons as long as the bore size matches the g4cs block bore???? I'm not 100% sure about this. I do know i could use 6 bolt rods. Planning to get forge rods and pistons.

2) Also, are there other things to do or advice for the g4cs 2.4l with the 6bolt 4g63 head swap into my 98 talon awd ??

As far as i know this g4cs block swap is really similar to 6bolt block swap. Using mostly all 6bolt components on the g4cs bolt.

Here's what I got so far. Correct me if I'm wrong:
-Need 2.4l timing belt
-Going to get adjustable cam gears since I'll be using afermarket camshaft.
-Timing the cam gears and timing marks will be a little different/off.
-Stock/bolt-on downpipe might not fit
-Need knock senor ??

Shit sorry those pdfs are for head swaps on a 2g 4g64 and for 2g 4g64 to dohc turbo

Should be the same as a 6 bolt swap, which u already have.

You might be able to find max bore 4g63 pistons, but Manley and wiseco I believe habe off the shelf 2.4 forged low comp pistons, which would be a better way to go.

You will have to plug/block some of the oil drain-back holes in the block deck.

The timing belt you should be able to use a 94 (?) Galant 2.4 dohc t-belt with std timing components. I've also seen a couple threads where the hydro-tensioner arm was ground down to use the 4g63 belt. I'd recommend the 2.4 belt, usually stm has them with full kits.

Should be able to put the knock sensor in one of the other rear bosses, I believe its closer to the trans.

Downpipe may be able to clear, it's only 1/2" height difference basically. Stock bracket won't line up, at this point you might as well get an aftermarket downpipe.

This all seems like too much to do, you should just give me your g4cs block and forget the whole thing ;):D

^^ Thanks, for the reply and info, really helpfully. I'm going to slowly do this build since I'm not sure what all really needs to be done.

Keep this thread going .. I am watching as this is the way I am taking my 92 AWD Talon. Any tips and things I can learn as the thread goes along would be great.

did you finish this build i am curious on how it turned out if so i been looking into this type of build or 2.0 or 2.1 long rod destroker
