OK so here's the story so far.
I got a 90 gst, dont like awd. Long story short, like most dsm. It's parked not running, new bottom jumped time.
So I go and do something stupid I get another!
A 97 eclipse that I thought was running good, then I drive it home and it's dumping fuel. Now it's not even drivable, I want to sell it now!! I don't need 2 parked dsm, if I knew it wasn't going to run, I would have fixed my 1g already!!!

So here I am, I need to become an expert on evo8 ecu turning now.
Everything I wanted to do with my 1g has been done, I don't want a super boosted car. I want one that runs and is still fun to drive.
This is literally from the ad I bought it from.

Bottom block rebuild with evo8/9 pistons and rods less than 7k miles
- balance haft remove
- ARP head studs
- evo9 OFH with oil cooler
- evo 8 ecu tuned with speed density
-1200 cc pte
- all gasket are new since rebuilt
- innovate oil/pressure gauge
- mtx-l wideband with extra sensor
- autometer boost gauge
- real evo3 big 16g turbo ( I also have s 14b turbo that will go with it if price is right)
- Valve cover with 3 10an fittings
- oil catch can
- FP manifold
- 3" intake with specter filter
- ported stock O2 housing
- 6an ss line from tank to rail with aftermarket fuel filter ( I have a new 6an nylon line to go with the car)
- 190 walbro fuel pump with re-wire
- front and rear eibach lower sway bar
- tire has about less than 15k in it
- VRSF front mount intercooler (short route) with 1st gen BOV
- ss clutch line
- lightweight ACT flywheel
- XTD stage 4 clutch
- punishment racing aluminum radiator with shroud and slim fan
- battery relocated to the trunk with quality wires ( military grade ).

So are you trying to sell it or fix it? Fixing it should be easy, may not even be the ecu. We had larger injectors in our 99 eclipse when we bought it, they were 650cc but choked the car with fuel unless you were boosting everywhere. We also had a bad tps sensor. Fixed the sensor and downgraded to the stock 450cc injectors and it works fine for now. We have 550cc ready for when the motor and trans are done being broke in and need that extra fuel for top end mph/rpm. The setup on yours is close to our setup, I'd ditch the 1200cc and downgrade. Just watch the fuel:air ratio so you don't run it lean.

Right now I would rather sell it.
I have no choice but to fix it now, I would rather spend the money on my 90, but so far I have fixed a boost leak, which to me doesn't make sense for the car to buck because it has a speed density sensor. On my stock 1g I had a boost leak but it would just die in idle. Yesterday night while I was test driving, it left me stranded about 6 blocks away. This time after some basic checks for spark, I found out maybe the coils or the wiring is bad. I am regretting this so bad, day 1 I already had to buy a new battery and I've spent way too much time on it.
I can do the same with the injectors I have 8 extra. The thing is the rom is already configuration with the 1200cc mappings, so I need to load the correct values. I can't do that yet, ecuflash can't even recognize my rom! My afr values are way too lean, but I can smell the gas. I thought the cat was melted so I took it to a muffler shop and they told me I was dumping fuel. I am still going to remove the cats and see what happens, but I need the car to at least run again. I would much rather have liked to have the car dyno tuned very moderately and work around that tune. That was my day after plan, but instead here I am dilly wacking.

Sounds like everything is backwards from what it should be. Is there an adjustable fuel regulator? Too much fuel to injectors maybe. Might also see if you can clean the afr sensor since it's dumping fuel, might have some buildup in it

I just installed the wideband, it was running on stock oxygen sensor because of inspection reasons he said. There is no afr it's back to the stock one, so he must have sold off a lot of the parts before he sold it to me. So I am really stuck right now. It's running an evo8 ecu, so I am guessing that I should be able to regulate gasoline with injector controls. The only thing I was going to fix when I bought the car was the idle, but I was just going to disconnect the iac and adjust the screw to 1000 rpm.

It really sounds like a tuning issue ... I would get a lap top to work with the ECU flash first and foremost. You can swap back to stock ecu and 450cc as another option to just get some idea of whats going on, you have a wideband now so you can keep the boost low and have a go at it .....

Swap in a stock ecu and 450s and find out what's wrong.
I will try to do that, but the car is so modified that I don't think the stock computer will run. But I will definitely try it, I need to fix the spark problem first. Thanks for all the support guys!
I found out that it's running tephra mod with speed density, most of what I have been doing is research. I have to go over the mods so that I know what can go wrong.

ecuflash can't even recognize my rom!

If you ever run in to a situation where EcuFlash won't recognize the ROM image, you can always attach that ROM image to an email sent to support at tactrix dot com and we'll take a look. Sounds like you've figured out that you have a Tephra ROM in there, so you just need to drop that xml definition file in to your rommetadata directory and you should be good to go. Let us know if you need any other help.

You guys are just too awesome!!!!
Thank you MikeyPSF, OGDSM1989, pauleyman, and AntmanAndLittleDi.
Work gets in the way, but tomorrow i should have free time with my new partner in crime.
Who needs a woman when you have have a DSM, or two.
Progress so far.
Its definitely a two front wiring issue on the main harness on the motor that connects to all the sensors.
Also the harness to the ecu, luckily i have access to alldata and mitchell.
even luckier, I have access to some very pricey telecommunications testing equipment that will make fault detection a snap. I got some of the wiring worked out, so at least the car is idling and running like a dream.
Way better than when i got the car, previous owner wasn't able to get idle i think.
He said it has a ford mustang throttle body, so i am very surprised it is idling so smooth.
I still have no power while under any boost, i mean literately. I have 1-2 psi, and it still buckles.
But, i got so much work ahead of me, and i should be able to remove the cat tomorrow.
believe it or not, the wide-band says its running lean. On 1200cc injectors....
So i think the fuel pressure regulator is going to be on my shopping list....
while i am at it i am going put my walbro 255 i never put in the 1g.
Ill keep you guys posted, but i am impressed by the evo8 ecu so far.
also I found the XML that goes to the rom, but for some reason ecuflash isnt having it.
Once i can see the configuration of the rom, it should be downhill.
I hope....

You should just have to drop the appropriate XML file in here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo

the restart EcuFlash and you should be off and running assuming you haven't changed the rommetadata folder location in the EcuFlash settings. If you're still having trouble send an email to me (support at tactrix dot com) with the ROM image attached, and we'll get your setup sorted.

Just replied back to the support ticket you sent us. In case anyone else is curious, Missingxtension just had the wrong Tephra definition. He was running 96533706 but had the definition for 96530706. When we update our definitions next we're planning on including Tephra and Ceddy definitions in EcuFlash. In the past we had left those out since they are for custom/modified ROMs, but enough people use those ROMs that it just makes sense to include them from the start.

Awesome to see you tactrix guys on here finally. I may have some questions for you pertaining to my setup soon...very soon.

I joined a little over a year ago, but I haven't yet reached my 30 post count so I'm still on probation and can't reply to half the relevant threads in this forum because they're closed to probationary members. At this rate I should be able comment on all Tactrix/Openport/EcuFlash threads by late 2017 :)

Yes, I am here for the kicking.

Welcome to the site, bud. Might I suggest at least just picking up something to log ECU data with. That will at least give you an idea of what is going a-stray. I also vote swapping out stock injectors and ecu. That will get you back to the baseline and rule a crap tune out. The only modification at that point (keeping in mind that poor maintenance such as leaks and off-base timing is not a mod) that will keep it from running right is an unregulated fuel pump.

BUT here's something peculiar: You said it is tuned with speed density... So whats the sensor set up? GM MAP sensor and GM IAT sensor welded into the intake pipe? I'm assuming you MAS is gone since its speed density. What did he use to tune it with?

That right there is going to make swapping out ecu's/ tunes extremely hard without tuning software.

Sorry guys, I have been very busy
97gsxIA, I do have 2 MAS laying around. But I have to resplice everything back to stock. It is using an after market 4 bar with a gm IAT in the tubing. It was turned with ecuflash and evoscan. I was not able to get any logs because it would run so bad and die on me constantly. Then it just left me stranded at my cousins house and I have been working on it there on his curb since last week or so. My laptop needs a battery, so I haven't been able to get a good log yet. I plan on getting a battery in the next day or so. Also thanks for the welcome.
Mikepsf, I don't know why ecuflash's roaming profile is in the start menu folder. It should be under appdata/roaming/openecu/ecuflash instead it's under appdata/roaming/microsoft/start menu / ecuflash. That might not be the exact path since I am going on memory. But I got it sorted out, disabling UAC should solve that annoying issue.

What I have done so far. Switching injectors to stock game a no start. Not surprising without inputting correct injectors on tephra. Barely solved the ecuflash problem this morning. I went and got a fuel rail and a fuel regulator on the cheap. I have the pressure set to 50, it seems to idle best like that. Also did another boost test, the 1g recirculation valve seems to leak around 5psi. But that doesn't explain no boosting. The wastegate is connected directly to intake tubing and the recirculation to the manifold. I'll post some photos. But I am still at a loss, I am going to change the plugs again, go from there once I get the logs going. Thanks for your support guys.
There is one weird thing I noticed when I connect an obd2 scanner, the ecu reports a 500 rpm discrepancy. So I look at my tach and I am barely idling at 3-400 rpm, on the scanner it says 800 or so. Same for 800 it'll show 11-1200 rpm. Ill have to look at what an evo cas looks like, but I think it looks a 1g cas. I don't know what a 2g looks like either. I have refresh my memory, but I think the rom is read by the ckp.

OK I think I got this squared out. I am running on two cylinders, the first coil is not firing. Which is really weird, because I have never seen a motor run so nice on two cylinders. I have never seen a motor run on one cylinder before either, but this one does!!
You must be logged in to view this image or video.
Me and my cousin tried tracing the wires to the harness, but they both seem to complete the circuit.
It was late. We were cold and tired. But tomorrow I will have to look at some wiring diagrams and get a proper multimeter. By both wires, I mean the grounds on coil 1 (cylinders 4-1) and coil 2 (cylinders 2-3). It's a weird situation.

OK after some research into the issue. The most likely problem is not wiring, it's going to be a bad transistor. A little searching and a little time can make a difference.

Looks like you're on your way to a running car. One of these days we need to get a laptop setup. I'm sure it makes problems like yours 100x easier to deal with. Good luck with your Frankenstein, sometimes the mutts make the best friends LOL

This car is upsetting me, so I finally ended up bypassing ecu pin 10 or black/blue to the ignition control module. Now i got spark on all four cylinders, now i am back to my original problem.
I dont have any power, i swear i was able to spin the tires with two cylinders. Now if i let off 1st gear it just tries to die! then to make things worse ftd2xx.dll file couldn't be found. So i wasn't able to log anything. It was late and i was tired, but if anyone around the irving can take a look, or maybe a shop in Irving. Let me know, i should have be able to log something today. Ill try dropping the psi on the fuel regular, but i dont think thats it. I know that even 1200 cc injectors wont cause that, as long they are firing off correctly, and they firing correctly.

ok guys, if anyone is still looking, i have some logs today.
I removed the cat, it was horribly clogged.
Some more rewiring, and a long drive loging. I wasnt able to get a wideband because for some reason evoscan wont connect to it. But logworks does just fine.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8L5qPkE-TgBekhNZjh4eEtFcUU
as you can see in the log, i cant really rev over 4k.
It has very low power, its a struggle hitting 60
