How much down pipe do you need for your car/turbo to stay safe? It it already chopped after the flex pipe but I want to cut more off. It wont be long just until my Thermal R&D gets here so i cant put on all the other exhaust.

As long as it clears any important parts and you are cool with the sound. If it dumps under the car you are going to run into some issues with the exhaust gasses coming in.

Just understand that exhaust is there for a reason ..... In 1965 when big blocks came with 1.5in single exhaust it was common practice to cut off exhaust etc etc but with our newer cars , fuel injection and what not having some exhaust is actually needed for the motor to burn fuel correctly make power and protect the engine. I am not saying that larger more direct exhaust does not have it place, drag cars do not idle at a stop light for 3 min, or drive 5 miles at a time at 35 mph. They run a few passes and get a freshen up .... apples and oranges drag vs street.

I would just wait till your exhaust gets here you already have the exhaust as loud as it going to get ..no other hp will be gotten from shortening it up. I dont live where you do but to loud and the cops may have a nice little fine for you ... any emissions and that may bring another ticket.

These are just my opinions and thoughts
