I bouth a 1997 awd tsi and having fun with it. My friend find a 1991 esi for realy cheap but i spare detail it was worthing what he paid... The car have trouble starting at cold...but it does not matter since its a slow poke the guy had put a 1.8l from an 1994 hyunday elantra...he was saying that they weremore realable that 2.0l non turbo dsm... So since 4g63 are in canada really expensive and there is no talon/laser near us that is cheap with the turbo engine i'm wondering if anybody know what nice engine would fit in with low ajustement and that have more power tant the 1.8 thank you

So i learn that in 1994 hyundai engine was make by mitsubitchi so that's why the engine fit right in and was looking like my 4g63. In fact the ingine is a 1.8L 4g93

You are able to see that its not 1.8 but 1.6 just by that picture and that the guy who sold it to my friend lied to us...and what about the wire he buy and the water pump belt that were fiting right in. He bought them asking for 1.8L part

4g93 is a different engine series (4G9x) than the Sirius (4G6X) showing in your picture. The Elantra came with either a 4G61 1.6 engine or a 4G93 1.8 engine that looks completely different from the 4G6x series, hence he's right.

it's still a mitsubishi engine, could be a compatible part between the two. That in the picture is definitely a 4G6X engine, so it if came from a 1994 elantra it could only be a 4G61 1.6, or a 4g63 if it had been swapped. That engine bay will take any 4g6x engine of the 1st generation the external difference is just a few mm in the block height.

Possible ... hmm Yes, more then likely its the stock Elentra 1.6 head. Is there a reason your wanting it to be a 4G63 head?

not me but they previous owner was telling us it was an 1.8 from Elantra 94 so why would he lie unless he didnt know and someone lied to him before or maybe it could have been an 1.8 with another head either 2.0 or 1.6

He probably just didnt know. Any 4g6x motor can fit. Just depends on what kind of work you want to do and are capable of doing. New motor requires new engine management etc. Different drivetrain parts too.

It look like an home made piece if **** since the ecu is the one of the original engine...it look like it come from a junkwars as it writen on it 1993 eagle talon 2.0 and the car is a 91 but anyway he want to sell it. he dicide that its not worth the money as he dont love DSM as much as me and he would prefer something with the right engine and with a turbo
