Probably a long shot, but I'll still try. There's a lot of great welders in here and I'm wondering if anyone could make a twin scroll for my hx35 1g setup. I'm not trying to be "that guy" but there's only one or two manifolds on the market that I'm finding and the prices are pretty steep. In now way am I looking to find someone who would make one for $100. I'm well aware of the cost of welding materials and what kind of money welders normally charge an hour. Any input on who to speak with will be greatly appreciated if you are not a welder yourself.

Thank you for your alls time.

Deleted asshat comment. I can't read. Still not going to find anyone to sell a retail manifold meeting those specs for any less, let alone develop a one-off for cheaper.

Contact UrbanSmoker something like this might be up his alley if you have the money. His skills certainly seem to be there.

in his post he said he was in no way looking for someone to make one for a $100.

Your post was funny but this guy wasn't being "that guy." I really hate "that guy" when I read those kind of threads.

In other words I'm currently making the same purchase. I had no idea the manifold would be the most expensive part of my build. Cheapest option is redjack racing. Last time I emailed them it was $775 plus shipping. Everyone I've talked to said it is a high quality product. They've also worked with the boards before.

LOL

Here's your $100 manifold. Call it twin-scroll if you want.

The materials alone would exceed $100. You are officially "that guy". If there is someone out there...

I am looking for a clean rust free 9 second AWD 6-speed 1gb dsm. It has to run perfect, pass emissions, no misfiring, needs AC power steering everything. Full interior. New paint. better have rpf1's and ohlins. 3.0L stroker triple scroll.

Since I know there's a lot of you car builders on here, I am willing to pay $100 for such a car.

Oops I can't read. OP I owe you an apology...

But think about it, you are asking someone to invest the time r&d, waste/trial materials etc... to make a one off manifold while undercutting "expensive" ones that are already developed. if a welder charges even 30$ for his time. I can see it taking easily DAYS say 20-30+ hours of development test fitting grinding cutting welding fixing cursing trying again to achieve what you ask. That's $600-$900 not including materials etc... At that point he would be kind to refer you to redjack etc...

$700-$1000 is not all that expensive considering what it would cost for you to simply do it yourself. That's how I view products. I only get mad when I over pay for something that I couldn't make myself for cheaper.

Material alone is far over $100. I suggest you save your money.

You may want to re-read my OP. You're being "that guy" who can't read and give informative input LOL. None taken though.

Deleted asshat comment. I can't read.

It's all good brother. I agree with what you're saying. I posted this late at night and wasn't very clear so I apologize. Price is not directly the problem. It is indirectly the problem though Bc I want to know I'm getting what I'm paying for. I am not a welder whatsoever, but trust me I wish I was. I'd hate to fork over money for a manifold I don't end up liking due to whatever reason and then have the hassle of selling it and finding another one. I'd like to find someone I can be confident in their work for the money I'll be paying. Clear as mud yet? Lol

Anyone have updated contact information for RedJack? I did a quick search and found his profile on here and their Facebook but neither have recent activity in the last year.

All the major retailers have something. STM, Punishment, ExtremePSI, JNZ, ETS... whether or not they make it themselves, or get it from a reputable manufacturer/welder.

I would say hit up UrbanSmoker he does great welding, but I think he is developing something currently and his progress has been slow (its over a month in the works) Also I am not even sure what he is cooking up or even if it could be made for anyone besides himself.

Could you check in on the other twinscroll manifold thread and let us know whether or not what we were asking in that one might be possible? (a dsm flanged twin scroll housing to mate up to an evo x turbo)

One place I would look into for this type of work is Shearer Fabrications. They do custom work and offer lifetime warranties. I hear you when you say: you don’t know what you are getting. I have seen some of their work and it is top notch. Toxic Fab is another manufacturer on par too. Both their attention to detail, method, fabrication, fitment and equipment is top notch. It’s advantageous to go custom these days with the availability of billet merge collectors…something you may want to look into, if you have not already, especially if this is a street car or if it will be subjected repeated heat cycling with longevity in mind. Also, another benefit is the option of selecting primary size and pipe thickness optimal for your application. The off the shelf stuff cannot compete. Take a look on the EvoM forums for reviews on the two aforementioned company’s manifolds simply because there is adequate feedback on their work with more members running their products. Hope this helps and good luck.

It's a perfectly reasonable question because if you don't weld then you don't understand the labor involved. Who here wants to shell out a $1000 for something that isn't worth that? He's just trying to figure out what it's worth. Lot's of products out there don't cost a fraction of what they sell for (medications). I've also wondered this same thing because I'm going with a garret t3 setup. Hopefully you find a good deal. It appears, however, that these manifolds do indeed cost a lot of time and money to make.

This thread has been cleaned up due to off topic comments. If you feel the need to reply, read the entire thread before doing so. If you don’t have anything to contribute to the OP’s topic, then don’t post here.
