So I finally had time to give the cnc plasma a rest for a night and fine tune the cnc router. Got her up and cutting after much difficulty. Spit out this 1/2" 6061 Jpipe flange last night. Took it to a belt sander to clean it up. It's not perfect but I am still very impressed with my inexperience. It's nice to stop breaking bits for once LOL
Keep in mind this is not a cnc mill so the finish and quality isn't up there. But it's still pretty good. I think I'm going to draw up a water pump block off plate next just for some practice. But what types of things do you think I should make that would sell?

And for those wondering. Why am I doing it on a router and not the cnc plasma. Easy. The cnc plasma will do a decent cut up to 1/4" aluminum. But it also requires clean up and I haven't had much luck with anything thicker than 1/4". And to be honest the 1/4" is hit or miss sometimes. Sure it only takes 30 seconds vs the router taking 30+ minutes but there are advantages to both.

Going forward onto the lathe. A CNC lathe has always been something I have wanted. And well it almost seems as one is about to fall into my lap. It's not a high end industrial one but it's a known brand that was converted to cnc lathe. Still needs manual tool changes but for the price it's getting pretty hard to pass it up. It's by far going to be my biggest investment to date and I need to bust my ass to make it pay for itself. What types of things would you guys like to see made? Mainly trying to stick with aluminum.

Would you do Brass, ...if so I wouls like to see the shifter bushings not Stand / base bushings but the little one we ( I got from JNZ ) that we use for rebuilding the shifter assemble ... and I also have a cheap short shifter and a couple ( from what I gather special bushings ) but at the least some brass regular // standard 1992 -94 bushings may be cool. If not a one off set for me ...

Sure I can do brass
Any other CNC router ideas ?

Solid aluminum roll stops front and rear. There was a guy on here before selling them but I think he stopped. Same goes for the front and rear sub frame solid aluminum bushings.

for the CNC router /.... 1g center vent gauge pod , 1g radio bezel for gauges and SAFC/ turbo timer / boost controler etc

Automatic solid motor mounts would be perfect to!

How about the spark plug wire separators on the valve cover?
I think there's like 3 or 4 of them mine are loooong gone

Decent licence plate bracket ?

If you can do something in steel make custom replacement patches for fenders, rockers ect
in the most common rust spots but idk how marketable that would be

Idk if any of these are profitable but who knows LOL

Oh and the mount for the transmission connectors (not my pic )

Wire separators are a good idea. Do you have one to send me to model? I can probably 3D print some samples

I already make a 1g vent gauge pod and a 2g one
Some of my stuff on my website. Gamblegarage.com
I can CNC plasma 1/8" aluminum with ease. 1/4" aluminum is hit or miss. So I am using the router for thicker and 3D type stuff
I can CNC plasma 1/2" steel pretty well

I had no idea about your store ... Look forward to a order ...I need a fan shroud / plug and play catch can ....
Idea ? could you shave the VC smooth ?

I have catch cans too
No fan shroud. If I had a Dsm I would be all over it. I do sell mishimoto products and have their fan shroud
I don't have a mill to shave a VC but I am sure you can do it with a flap wheel and angel grinder and a lot of time

What if someone sent a 1g rad so you could figure out what you needed to do to set it up with slim fans and a shroud ? ..... I might that someone

I am sure I can find one
I have trying to see what I can do on the raidiator mounts but that bend is a bi***

THIS IS SO MUCH YES! US AUTOMATIC GUYS HAVE NO MOTOR MOUNT OPTIONS AND NOBODY SEEMS TO CARE!

I had to use a poly kit and combine manual mounts with auto mounts, would much rather have them solid!

Edit: Just to add, if this is a possibility, I would gladly send you all of my automatic motor mounts when my car is down which wont be for a few months unfortunately. Could maybe even go take a set from the junk yard.

Those are awesome ... finally better rad brackets. what rubber insert do they use, hopefully something better and more available then our 1g oem ones. I dont 150.00 ....I can see 100.00 especially if he can sell a set amount at a time, like a group purchase ..... maybe 10 - 15 at a time.

Why not charge more than $150?

STM sells 2g billet looking brackets for that much and its half the size and much less effort to produce/model than a 1g equivalent.

Nothing wrong with powder coating OEM. Finding new bushings has been documented. For those who like to go all out, $200 is a reasonable entry fee.

I personally hope that they go for $100 if they make it to production, but he'd be totally justified going up to about $200 in my eyes.

If he makes them I will buy them in bulk and you guys can order from me

I wouldn't charge that much, but good to know that you're willing to spend that much.LOL
The insert was made out of delrin, that way it will last forever i guess.
I never finished it, because the effort in machining it was too high and the demand for it too low..
But If there would be enough interests, I could start machining them again.
