Running speed density with mega squirt 2 on a 400 hp car.

How much hp is a 2g 609 mas costing me. At this point I am only using it to log air flow with log works. 5 hp? 10?

I have a 482 mas that would look and fit better, but that is probably more restriction? td06 20g with a billet 6 + 6 compressor.

Thanks for your input.

Well now I have a question ... how is the mas being used ? Is the ecu using it at all, could it be hooked up somehow using the mas to run the speed density ?

Not try to thread jack but this has me confused

You don't NEED a MAS for speed density. But you can use a correctly calibrated MAS to dial in your SD table.

OP, try removing it and log airflow. That should tell you if you lost or gained anything. My guess, it won't make any difference.

At this point I am only using it to log air flow with log works 3.
Until recently I could run the car on either a neo afc or speed density with mega squirt 3. The mas saved my ass when when my map sensor craped out 35 miles from home last fall.

Thanks for the link. Weather and other variables could account for some of that gain, but power certainly moved in the right direction.

So zero to a small gain is the consensus.

I will get rid of it eventually It would certainly make it easier to isolate my air filter from the engine bay heat.

There are systems that use a MAS combined with S/D.... in fact it's not a poor idea at all.

.... and nearly everything that's being called "S/D" on a DSM isn't real speed density. This includes jackal, dsmlink, etc.

I'm glad to see someone on the forum here with a megasquirt and I'm interested to read more about your setup as well. Be careful about how you ask questions here, some people assume a lot of stuff like they know all about why your car is set up the way it is. Lol.
