Ok so here's my question

I have been researching the Pro-M 80 and other Pro-M products along with gm maf and speed density set-up.

Im debating on what's Best for my 95 Talon Ts-i AWD MT.
Here's The reason, I drive from the oregon coast to Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Montana,Wyoming exct. So i basically drive the car from sea level to 5,000-6,000 feet above sea level to see family and friends a few times a year.
Also idaho gets as hot as 100°F+ to -40°F and its high in elevation and its dry .
Oregon's humidity is high and its at a low elevation pluss it never gets as cold as idaho LOL

But back to the point.
I found speed density was not the thing to run on my car due to re-tuning requirements.
So then i looked at GM maf...
It seemed ok and i was going to order all the parts for it.
Until my tuners sed to run pro-maf 80.
but i plan on running a blow off valve that vents to the atmosphere.
So anyone know if i can do that with this?

http://www.promracing.com/pro-m-80.html
I was going to run it but idk if i can due to the b.o.v.venting to the atmosphere.
And if i cant use it what should i use thats a pro-maf?

And i guessing you all want to know what parts im running.
So here's the list

In 15 years of working on these cars I have never heard of one person running that. Why not just do ECMLink V3 with speed density, remove the MAF, install the GM IAT sensor and a 3.5-bar MAP sensor and get the car tuned? You have a ton of money going into the motor why not properly tune the vehicle?

Will that alow me to change elevation without re-tuning?
Also can i run low psi and high psi without retuning?
And i know my way around an engine but tuning is something i need to learn more about.
I already have all the parts in the list above.

Just curious, since your tuner recommended the Pro M, does he primarily tune Mustangs? Not knocking the product, just seems like an unusual option on DSMs.

He builds/repairs/tuns... Audis, Rolls Royce, Toyota Supra, Volkswagen, mostly European, but also does muscle cars, domestic, commuters, regular repairs, he owns his own shop.
I just asked him one day what he thought the most accurate MAF was for my car because i was going to get a GM blow through but he sed pro-m 80 so im looking into it.
I thought it was a wird choice for a maf until i looked in to what it can do.
And some of it seemed kinda cool.
But i have a bov venting to the atmosphere to so now im looking at the blow through set up from pro-m.
I hope someone has used one it seemed like it would work.
But im open to other options as well.
As long as i don't have to retun the car before and after- races/track days, visiting places in high elevation or the weather changes from hot to cold, or humidity change

I've known a few guys that have ran the Pro-M setups on their cars. Warren (antilag_200) on here has successfully ran it on his old fwd drag car. I would try to get in touch with him about it.
Do you know how to get a hold of warren?
Is (antilag_200) his screen name on dsm tuners?
Also if you know guys who have or still run this product ...do you know any of the pros and cons of running it.
And if you could send them to this post that would be cool to.

As long as the pro-m had a frequency output that is linear with respect to mass flow it should work.

I do not agree with the typical mentality that sd is the greatest thing. There are many things wrong with that method fr a turbo car standpoint.

Additionally, why would oems be running mafs if they were not better. Oems do not do anything unless it makes for a more robust product and or saves money(saving money is the biggest driver for change)..a map and ait sensor are much cheaper than a maf.... That might tell you something.

If you want to run a maf run a gm maf with dsmlink. It's a proven system for these cars, with lots of background data.
Yah I've seen the GM maf set-up.
I've thought about using it but i know little about it as far as its reliably and whether it needs constant adjustment for temperature or altitude.
Do you use the GM maf?
How accurate is it?
Is there alot of tuning requirements?

Feel free by the way to send me any links to a webpages or forums with helpful information related to the GM MAF and translator or pro-m MAF .

I hate to post with out any data or reference. But I have heard that d=m/v lacks in elevation changes, as have most of us. But I have also seen accounts on this forum were users of density have driven cross country and according to them it was not a truly noticeable change. I wonder what kind of range does density operat optimally in.

I have it on my car (old school parts now). I've been struggling to get it to work well with ECMlink (along with an aggressive 2.3 build, part of the challenge is still learning link). Prior to link, on the 2.0 setup, it was very easy to work with. I'm running something similar to the Pro-tube, . I have i positioned just before the throttle body.

What I don't see on their site now is the 2 control boxes and air intake temp sensor. One box is a global fuel adjustment, and the 2nd box is similar to the knob style afc (and also programmable). My setup is over 10 years old and I believe the same setup Warren / antilag is still using. I've been debating switching over to speed density myself at this point.

I just threw in the towel at this point...
I went with speed density added temperature sencer with a flex fuel sencer and a map sencer .
I'll let you all know how it works out when i drive the car from sea level elevation/ Oregon coast to 5,000 feet-ish above sea level elevation/ idaho in the winter when i take my Christmas trip to see family.
It would be nice to see a maf that works with atmosphere vented blow off valves in the future.
