Howdy.. Like the post states Im here with the hopes of getting ahold of a relatively clean front and rear subframe complete and engine and trans to swap into my 91 rs impulse. Its already awd turbo but... 4g63. Long story short the motors very tired and i love the car but want the power and reliability and parts availability I had with my 90 tsi awd. If you've heard anything about the impulses you should know most the parts are gone. No one carries or has parts for the car from rod bearings rings wheel bearings even pcv valves.. Anyway if you have or know of a roller dsm that has at least the awd trans axels suspension and rear subframe complete please let me know. Thanks!

If anyone can I also I need to know what the measurement between the frame rails in the engine bay is from passengers side to the drivers. Not fender to fender just to be clear. Then from the radiator support to the firewall. Thanks in advance

Or from passengers side mount to the drivers mount. Also I'm just south of chicago so parts wise near chicago area.

Just from the pic, I can tell your motor faces the wrong way ...you should look into a Evo swap that will be substantially easier since the motor face the same way.

Thought about that but I like the 1g 6 bolts and its not a direct bolt in so sides dont matter it will have to be mounted with custom mounts regardless. Both have centered diffs and drive shafts so its just as much work either way and I'd rather not spend more for no real reason.

You will be spending more when the dsm transmission falls apart, the evo 5 speed transmissions are a lot stronger, and building an evo motor costs about the same as a dsm [sometimes cheaper] welding effort/cost being the same, I'd go with an evo 4-9 motor trans setup if I were you.
Thats the first I've heard of the transmission problem. Ill look into the evo 4g prices. Still like the 1g and I'm not looking to run heavy power. The impulse is 150ish stock so 200 would be good 300 top for what I would want.

The other thing is stealthiness, because the isuzu motor sits on the same side as the Sirius II motor[evo 4-9]s you can hide the fact that it was swapped... in fact if you want to be more sneaky, [and save some money at the same time] you can get the G4JS motor from a 2002-2004 Hyundai sonata/kia optima its a 2.4 version of the evo4-9 motor, you can have the internals swapped over to forged pistons and rods using the money you saved not getting an over priced evo motor, seeing as how many people undervalue the hyundai and kia offerings, you might get one vary cheap if you can find a partout of an optima or sonata however the evo transmission etc will have to come from an evo.
some more info here http://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...2-official-hyundai-2-4l-g4js-4g64-thread.html

by the way I like the sleeper look of the Isuzu, you don't see these rare gems everyday, certainly will be a cool unique swap man.

Still looking for a shell or motor near chicago. Would love to get my hands on a built 4g but well see what I find. If anyone could I need to know what the inside measurements of the bay are from pass to drivers side mounts and from pass to drivers frame rail to rail. Then front to rear mounts. Need them to know how well the motor will fit. Thanks in advance:D

You can always build the trans with evo guts ;) what I did. If you want a sick motor hit up my friend and guy who built my trans Brian Terhune. He's in Indiana not to far from Chitown. He's the Mitsuman bro trust me, and can build anything mistu. He's also a retired Mitsu master tech so can get pretty much any part. Pm me if you want his contact info.

What engine management would you use to get it running
