Ignore his dyno numbers. Like at his trap speed vs weight. It's making a lot of power.

This.

HP on an auto doesn't matter. I dynoed 372/405 on a dsm76. Drove 70mi to the track 2 days later, trapped 130.75 at 28-29psi weighing in at 3395lbs with me in it, and drove it 70mi home.

Dyno said 372...calculators say I averaged about 525awhp down the entirety of the track. HP#'s are good for nothing IMHO outside of gauging benefits of changes to hardware or tune.

Made a few more pulls on pump gas tonight, running into issues with boost creep I think my single 38MM gate isn't going to cut it with this bad boy, time to go back to a 44mm I believe, gate opening at 25psi and as rpms go up boost is linearly increasing with the gate open, by 7K im at 38psi LOL.

Had the exact same issue. Ended up going to a 44mm gate, then could hold down to 15psi if I wanted.

Set it to 38
Honestly thought of this but id like to take steps at the track in increments raising boost pressure but hell LOL, maybe ill just twist the fun knob to where I don't notice boost creep. Looks up into the night sky and whispers, "Dear felpro gods, please continue to bless my engine by completing the seal between my cylinder head and cast iron block with 40psi of pressure being thrown at your OReilly's 38$ composite self with your good pals ARP studs helping you along the way " , its seen 40psi a few times wonder how long it will last.

Don't get crazy with timing. I ran 38psi on my 2.4 on a composite gasket. (Did oring the block though).

Not in the 40's, but I have ran a fel-pro composite without o-rings for years after having nothing but issues with MLS. 30psi. LOVE THESE GASKETS. And the good thing is, if there is an issue that arises, its better to blow a $35 gasket and bend a fk rod or put a hole in your block. With MLS, what could have been a $35 and a weekend issue becomes a $2000+ issue and even more down time.

I know there are guys that swear by MLS, and copper and all that...and I respect that. Everyone has to go with what they get to work for them. Just putting my experience out there, so take it for what it's worth.

Composite seems to be the only gasket to seal my setup at this point with the SS Figure 8 O-Ring job, ive made several 10 second passes on 34psi on the red and its seen 38-40psi a few times on this holset without failing yet, I'd like to run around 35psi to be safe but we'll see.

I went with this method I had everything built and purposely added a weak point to the build. I used a composite gasket with L19s, Hx40. It was fine until about 420hp than it started pushing coolant around 26psi 472hp 399tq. 15*Timing 11.8 AFR but it was close to running out of fuel plus overrunning the Maf. I want to blame the tuner but it could of just been the gasket.. I resurfaced the head and its still pushing coolant. So now im looking to get my block decked and im going back to MLS not copper sprayed..

Old heads get soft. That could have been your problem. Also I think the composite needs a very fine surface finish just like the mls.
Couldn't be more true about the head getting soft, each time this head comes off the stud holes are shrunk around the stud and its tricky to get 1 or 2 of the studs out, the holes have been stepped up several times, this is the last shot on this head, at this point I think the O rings are helping because I'm at 40psi with no pushed coolant... SO FAR watch next time I make pulls it will lift just cause I said that.

420hp is al the further you got on the composite? I think @99gst_racer had previously stated his 647whp run was on a composite, and JP up in cleveland made 708whp on a composite back in 2008. I'm only about 525whp ish based on my weight vs 130.75 trap speed...so i'm not quite on their level yet, but a this point, I think composites are very capable HG's.

Well I finally made it to the track this past Saturday which turned out to be a disaster and I only made one pass right as the track closed, I didn't even get to launch the car correctly because my nitrous solenoid ground wire came loose and she wouldn't spool fully, so I left the line at 3K LOL, anyways on 34psi without a good launch the car ran 10.6 @ 139mph riding the 8800rpm limiter several feet before the trap, I know this thing will run 9s all day long, hopefully will be back out in a few weeks expecting like 6.30 in the 1/8th and around 9.80 @ 140-145mph on kill.

Are you going to raise the rev limiter or change tire size for the next track visit? Also what Housing are you running? Very nice times

Yep limiter will be raised to 9-9200RPM possibly, just ordered a S90 TB and Fidanza Cam Gears gonna squeeze every bit out of this stock converter that I can before I go Sinister 8"...Only thing im missing now is a nice Intake Manifold but im curious as to what the stock manifold record is, cause I want it, I think I can get this thing close to 150mph on 40psi.

Thinking of swapping to an hx40. I'm on a BW 259 right now running 10.5 consistent, but I wanna get into 9s so bad. Here is my set up. What do y'all think.

10:1 wiseco with Manley rods acl bearings. Stage 3 head. 282 cams. Borg Warner 258rs. Side exit exhaust. Sbr fmic. Dsm translator. Dsmlink v2.5 hks ssqv. Tial 38mm through hood. Punishment t3 exhaust manifold. Alum rad slim fans. Rear mount battery with shutoff switch. 1000cc injectors. Aem can gears. Old school Dejon intake manifold. Act lightweight flywheel and 2900 clutch. Shep stage 3 trans with welded diff. 1inch lower springs. Ss clutch lines welded pedal assembly. Walbro 450. Adjustable fpr. Only main hoop of cage is welded in needs finished have the parts. Have most of interior minus radio. Made 560 at 34 psi. Mitsu metal head gasket and arp l19 studs. Tuned on q16.Has went a best of 10.5

I really don't know, I haven't had the car but maybe a month. I bought it off of here and drove to PA to pick it up from Memphis. I looked for the serial plate but didn't see it.

Does anybody know what kind of power can be had from an HX40/35 hybrid? I know the 60mm 40's are supposed to be good for around 60lbs/min and I would imagine in a divided T4 housing flow would not be an issues, but I am not sure how far a 40/35 can go or when it's going to run out of turbine.
