Anybody running the 9 blade TD05 turbine wheel? Have and opinions or direct comparisons to the original 12 blade wheel?

Wondering if it would be worth the upgrade a in td05 16g/20g applications.

I am running one. I can't tell you it adds 50 HP or anything like that, but the design and concept works as it advertises. The 9 blade has a much better trailing edge exit, similar to clipping, it allows smoother exhaust flow which does help with turbo lag. Some have a smaller lock nut than the 12 blade which decreases weight and helps with the exhaust flow.

As mentioned the 9 blade is lighter which helps spool up faster but the larger pockets in between the blades helps to carry the power band up into the RPM range.

Overall I really like it, it's not so much a power bolt on as it just helps to dial in where you want your power band and driving conditions.

For Street use I think it's ideal for the reasons listed above, drag racing you may not notice any difference.

18G.

I have an EVO 3 turbine housing, 16G CHRA with custom thrust plates, 18G compressor wheel and custom machined Chinese 16G compressor cover. I used the Chinese housing because the cast surfaces are smoother than MHI, although a bear to machine.

When are you spooling? How much air are you flowing? And hp numbers? I made 376hp on a mustang dyno with my 16g. Wondering if I can squeeze some more out or swap to maybe a 20g with the 9 blade

I'm starting to boost around 3k, which for an 18G wheel is phenomenal. I don't have any numbers to give you, I had a stock 14B prior to this. I know it spools earlier and carries higher into the RPM and hits harder than the stock 14B. That's all I have though, just comparison.
