First tore into this project 2 years ago. Took everything out of the bay and primed\ repainted. Engine rebuilt with new head and valve train. After several moves and NO time to do anything, I have forgotten alot of information combined with already the lack of knowledge. I know I'm over my head but I desperately want to see this run. I owe great thanks to this site and its members already. I almost have the engine ready to go back in. My bay is pretty much still apart minus little things. I owe someone my life if they could post pictures of a bay without the engine in so I can compare and remember where everything goes. I don't usually ask for spoon fed answers but I am now. Maybe links to help out? 97 GST. Thank you all.

I'm in the same boat... started a couple years ago; have the car currently stripped and engine bay empty. The wife and I are just about settled in a new home and the itch to get working on the car is starting up again. Another good piece of help is the 2g bolt/nut/fastener list, but I think the site that hosted it is no-longer in place. If anything, the 1g list may help:

I printed the 2g list a while back, but it's in a box buried in the garage... good luck!

I just put my 6 bolt in my 2g after 3 years. I was in the same boat, awesome links above! If you need any help directly feel free to pm me.

Im planning on doing this swap as soon as my 7 bolt piss me off too much. Was it a pain to do? I read all the wright ups it seems pretty simple. Im looking for a cheap 6 bolt long block for the time being. Moving to Daytona in 2 months so it should be easy to find one around there.

It's pretty straight forward, make sure you save your 7 bolt and accessories. You will need certain things off of it to make it work. I would find one throw it on an engine stand and work on building so it's ready when you need it!

I'll see your 3 years and raise you 3 more!
It's amazing how kids/work/building a house will put that stuff on the back burner. I'm finally ready to drop my engine in after walking my 7 bolt back in 2009.

Haha never to late brother, life tends to get in the way but what's impressive is you still have it!
