I'm in the process of freshening up some of my harness and my first area I'm going to do is the injector wires and new connectors I have all the loom and tape off, all that's left to do is run the new wires, solder etc. However when I got to the resistor pack female plug I ran into my issue. I have a set of assorted tiny screwdrivers that should allow me to depin this connector however no matter what I tried the pins are not coming out. I've tried putting the screwdriver into all the usual holes that release the pins but nothing works. Just seems there are no release tabs or place on the pin to either depress or lift up on to release them.

Has anyone removed these before if so what is the trick??

Try this, you should then be able to remove the pins with a small screwdriver/needle etc. The "surround" that is grey in your connector must be removed before you can depress the retainers that holds the pins in :) I depinned the coil pack connectors on my '90 to do a plug and play ARCII ignition box recently so this should get you going for your project. The MALE connector for the mate to this should have a "blade" in the middle that you would pull if you were depinning it just for clairification.

Nice write up Brian!! I fiddled with my new connectors from Brad S until I figured them out and before I put anything together. I like all of the pictures, they are worth a thousand words ya know! :thumb:

I still haven't really figured them out, but I have successfully pulled a few pins using that link as a guide. It does make things easier actually seeing what you're throwing your pick tool at.

Thanks guys, that was the trick. Although getting the pins out were still a pain in the butt. If anyone were to do this I'd recommend getting a new plug with terminals. As that is what I did after I destroyed one pin hole.
