Actually its supposed to be an easy swap just the wiring can be a pain. The engine sits right on the 420a mount just little fab needed for trans mount, so for fwd its evo4-9 engine+ 4g64 tranny

What about the 4g64 spyder? Will an evo swap fit? I know the dsm 4g63 will.

This has been discussed before, but I'll answer,
So the short answer would be, it's too much work as opposed to what is already possible with the 2g spyder frame, since the 2g spyder frame has the mounts in the right position for a dsm 4g63t motor it makes little sense to stick a reverse 4g63t in it.
the 420a mounts put the timing belt on the left [passenger side] like an evo , hence why the op is using this motor in his build.

Unless you were referring to the 3rd or 4th gen eclipse spyders, which do have the timing belt on the same side as the evo, in which case it would be more easier to swap in the reverse evo 4g63t motor into a 3rd or 4th gen eclipse, as opposed to the wrong way facing 1g 2g dsm 4g63t motor.

Just adding my little 2 cents here, not as an insulting thing or anything, but 3rd and 4th Gen Eclipse's are not DSMs. And in reality, neither are 2Gs. The DSM factory was renamed to something else right before the 2G hit production, but we're allowed to be DSMs because they were produced under the same contract as 1Gs. But no 3rd or 4th Gen can be called as such. Just offering a little helpful history ;)

Love this build though.

I haven't been here in a while so here goes nothing. Talon is in the garage, thanks to another dsm buddy who helped get her inside. Engine will be going in soon, maybe in a week or two. I want to finish up the engine bay with new ss brake lines. Remember I'm not made of money so this takes time.

Thanks man! i appreciate the positive input. There shall be big update in a week or two. I just ordered some more parts that i wasn't going to until next month.

You don't understand how long I have been waiting for this. Wow! That looks spectacular, please post a bunch of pictures of different angles. Please go into detail as well. Phenomenal job man congrats!

What ecu are you going to run? I know most evo guys just run the stock ecu and get a 1.3 tactrix cable with tephramod or something.
