Anyone in the Inland Empire region that can help me with a start up issue? I've been building a dsm for the past 5 years. Finally last year when I thought I was near completion after a full engine rebuild, I tried to start it to no success, after turning the engine a few times, I went to give it a little gas and I heard rattling so I turned it off immediately. It did have extremely old gas (about 2 years old) and I was told that after losing octane, gas can create a rattle do to preignition. I fear that I may have bent the valves and that's what caused the rattling. Timing belt was installed correctly all teeth line up except for balance shafts since it was removed. My question is, what are the probability of rattling due to old gas, and is anyone local here that may be able to help me out, I would compensate for time helped
