Hello. I have one question. But before I must tell you my story. I buyed my 2G eclipse (euro model with 150 Hp, 4G63 Naturally aspirated) and after 1000 km it started to make a noise from the crankshaft. I took off the oil pan and the conecting rod bridges/covers and main bearings. The bearings from cylinder no.3 and no.4 where scrap so I replaced all main bearings and put all together. The engine Was working without problems 200 km. Now the engine has started again to make noise But now the noise is much louder than before. So please tell me what i must do to fix that. And why it happens again. Sorry for my bad english ( I'm from Romania). Thanks

Its really not a good idea to just replaced bearings alone. Especially if they were that worn out, they probably started to wear the crankshaft. The crank must be perfectly smooth and sized correctly. The oil clearances need to be exact down to the thousandths of an inch. When a bearing in the bottom end is worn out the proper way to do things is to tear down the whole engine and have the crank and the bore cleaned, checked and machined.

Ok. Thanks. What would you do: rebuild this Engine or buy an 6-bolt and fit it into my 2G chassey?

keep the car a 7 bolt. itll save you alot of unnecessary work. to me it just sounds like a spun bearing. since it happened again, it guess the crank is at fault. so you'll need to replace the crank. but have it checked out first. sometimes you can get away with a polishing. but do not have the crank cut or resurfaced. the bearing surface is nitride hardened and doing that will take strength out of it. you can also build a cheap stroker by finding a 4g64 2.4 crank and buying shorter rods. these blocks can easily be turbo charged with pistons being changed to forged. if you're staying non turbo then you really gain nothing by swaping to a 6 bolt other than time in converting the oil pump cover for the motor mount and a little bit of wiring. rebuild your engine

Thank's a lot. I would remove and open the engine completly these days to get a closer view on the cranckshaft. I will write in here after I open the engine.
