Long story short, I got a real nice 1G with a notable amount of work done to it. Only problem is, the person I got it off, bought it from an impound auction. He literally had no idea what was done to the car. Didn't even know it had a stage 4 shep trans.
Anywho, I'm piecing together what is done to the car as time goes on. My only real problem, is I'd like to avoid tearing into the engine internals. I used my Flex-scope camera to look through the spark plug holes and all I could see is obvious carbon build up on the top of the piston, and I can tell they were some sort of gold/bronze color.(The rim of the piston still looks gold)
Should I just go with what I know and hope for the best, or would you recommend tearing in and figuring out full specs on the car. The only reason I'm even worried is for tuning purposes. I don't have the slightest clue of how to tune, and I do not know how crucial knowing whats in my block is for tuning, but I'm working baby steps and learning as I go.
I also, looked through the Intake manifold and could see a clear Port/Polish job! That's a plus as well!
Thanks
