So i recently bought a GoPro Hero 3 and im looking around at all the different types of Car Mounts so i can get some good shots of both my interior and exterior during races.

I've seen a lot of suction cup styles for the window for interior and exterior use but i just dont trust them. Then there is also a magnet type but i dont want that to scratch the paint or anything. Is a clamp the best type? I'd like to hear what everyone uses with maybe links to ur own videos using that product.

Don't know if they're are the best, but I have 2 of these I use, never had any issues, even holding a small dslr/mirrorless camera (gh2). I do run a safetly line through the window when I use a heavier camera though, just in case. Never had it fail though.

So the suction cup style actually holds up when mounted on the outside? I was curious about that, also about the cheap price too, idk if id trust a 10$ accessory to save my 200$ camera from flying off the car after a bump or 100mph

Always worked for me no issues. I've used it at the track a lot, bunch of vids from the outside

Dude get a suction mount and try to pull it off. You could pull dents with the thing

1320video Uses suction cup mounts, they say they hold to about 180mph, even though they are only rated to 150mph. However I believe they hold better on the paint than windows... Just some food for thought

Looks like there's one made by JOBY that looks pretty decent

It's kind of overkill but has a lot of flexibility and allows for more mounting options than the suction cup.

It looks like its built pretty good but pricey too. U mount that to ur roll cage?

It's actually mounted to the middle brace on the ceiling. Don't have a cage yet, but that would also be a good mounting point.
