Can i ask how you plan on taking care of the turbo drain line? also with the compressor outlet so close to the inter cooler does it make any difference as far as IAT's between the traditional lower inter cooler pipe to FMIC inlet vs compressor outlet straight to FMIC inlet...also your dump tubes running so close to the timing belt do you think the rubber will be ok with street use? im talking prolonged street use...

The drain will have enough of a slope to properly drain. If it becomes an issue, I'll install a pump. As far as the timing belt situation, this is a full blown drag car so I'm not worried about prolonged heat with the timing belt

I found out a local junkyard just got a N/A 93 Eclipse so I went there today and took just about everything from it. Tail lights, rear bumper, entire front end, auto brake pedal, roof, and engine. Best part was, the yard has a membership program, which my buddy has, and this weekend was 1/2 off everything so I only paid $180 after tax for all of it!

I'm going to sell my stock turbo longblock and build the N/A bottom end and use the built head I have. It'll be getting aluminum rods and most likely Wiseco 9:1 pistons

yes I've abandoned the stock idea. the more I looked around, the more I saw how scarce these stock engines are and I didn't see a point in blowing it up for absolutely no reason when people need them

I realized that with a built engine, there is no point in running just a s366 so I sold it today and I'll be ordering a S475. I'm praying that it fits between my manifold and frame rail because I really don't want to have to tube the front end
My machine shop assures me that there is no need for aluminum rods so I'm going with Manley I-beams and Wiseco 9:1 pistons. Shooting for the magical 1000whp now (with nitrous)

Appreciate the move for the community, but I was really looking forward to seeing what that stock longblock could do. Can you post any pics of your Ford rear conversion?

I'm extremely confident that the stock longblock would have gone 9's. Maybe down the road if I come across a stock 6 bolt for sale, I'll buy it and swap it in

As for the ford rear, that part won't be done until after the winter but I'll definitely take detailed pictures and do a proper write up on it

Hung the new front end on, lowered it, and threw on the rx7 wheels. The bumper is just zip tied to the fenders and hood because I have to fab up a bumper bracket for it

And no, the car will not be getting painted. The colors you see on the car is exactly how it's staying. Looks are of the absolute least importance to me. Unless someone wants to paint the car for free (labor), which I doubt anyone will do

Performance wise, this car is one that I'm looking to run very similar to. Only difference is, I'll be running an A2A intercooler and C16

good luck with your quest, however I think these ff large turbo setups are usually overkill, Ive been mid 9s on a stock placement T3 6466 and currently running mid 10s on a bolt on dsm flange internally gated FP RED LOL.

Haha I was on youtube earlier and just watched this vid. Get it buddy, and I'm digging the colors. Looks to me also is the last thing on my mind. Love it

For what I paid for the manifold, there was no better option. I'd prefer to have a top mount setup but those don't exist for $350. With the 366 and tial 44, the whole hot side runs me $1150. I've never seen a 700whp+ capable hot setup for that price. Hell, people want that much for some of these used manifolds LOL

I take note on every single penny I spend on this car and also how much I make on it. I have another $2k to spend on engine internals and probably another $2k in external parts. Tires & suspension will be another $1500 and I'll be done. Oh and can't forget about that $1000 barrel of fuel

Quick rundown..

Spent $1200 on car initially
Spent $2730 on parts
Total : $3930

Sold $2040 in parts so far that came with the $1200 car

Out of pocket $1890 so far and I could assemble the car and drive it tomorrow if I wanted to.

Well my output shaft snapped shortly after towing this thing for a buddy so my Tahoe is down until I can find a trans cheap enough

So tonight I ended up picking up a 2002 Sierra 2500hd for $800. The guy I got it from must have been a raging alcoholic because the cluster is smashed, radio punched in, center console lid ripped off, and door panel ripped off.... oh and about 20 nips all over the truck. Luckily I have an entire parts truck to fix everything

As much as I thouroghly enjoy the ugly mismatched body panels, I picked up a clean white 1gb Talon today to use the body panels

Picked it up today for $450. I'm just using it for the front end, rear bumper, tail lights, roof, and wing

Out of curiosity, why C16? Is E85 not available whee you are?

It's not about availability. The place I'll be buying C16 from also carries C85 (VP's E85). It pretty much comes down to the fact that I won't drive the car very often and would have to run pump gas through the fuel system every time I park the car to make sure nothing corrodes

ok at first i thought this was a realistic project but a thousand whp...."This is going from mission impossible to freakin insanity" This is awesome though! Im getting pretty discouraged though trying for 9seconds in a 5 speed...every one so far has been running autos...and the ones that have tried in a 9speed did it but broke bunch of gear sets on the way....not my cup of tea! I was thinking of going with the borg warner sxe 8780 which isnt much bigger then your unit you just sold for a 400 series holy cow...what about street ability i dont recall if you mentioned track only or not

^ This sounds interesting...if you can do that with a red ...no reason why 9ns shouldnt be doable with a black....?

Never mind as far as the streetability i see full out drag car LOL even better LOL!

I'm not one of these guys who completely builds an engine top to bottom then slaps on a turbo only capable of 600whp when the engine will withstand 1000+

LOL Awesome! Rock onman! I for sure am excited to see it get done ! It would have been all the more GOLD if you attempted it in a 5 speed :p

I don't think a stock 5 speed trans would last 1 pass with the power I plan on making LOL

I got bored and went to town with the grinder

Awesome to see a budget build go together. As far as stock everything. This looks like a much more attainable route to take.

I started shaving the engine bay yesterday. My buddy who is doing the welding has been sick so can't really get too far into the shave. Every hole will be filled and I'll be making new ones for the harness and fuel lines
