I have a 98 eclipse 4g63 with the stock garret T25 turbo. The problem is that it is running very rich, and every once in a while it will hiccup as if it was missing.

I have tried the following.........

new plugs with correct gap
new coils
new wires
new fuel injectors
new fuel pump
new fuel filter
new fuel pressure regulator
new throttle positioning sensor
new mass air flow sensor

any ideas?

I have a 98 4g63 eclipse and cylinder #4 injector went bad on Friday and I put a new one in it here it is 4 days later and the injector went bad again. It has a new fuel pressure regulator and I made sure there is power at the plug.
Any ideas???

How are they failing?

Since you also seem to be having other electrical issues, make sure your system voltage doesn't go over 14.4v and check the injector resistor pack to make sure that all of the resistors are in spec at 5.5 - 6.5 ohms per resistor. Check when cold and hot.

if it is a non turbo then he dont have a injector resisotr pack

I know that. :sneaky:

If you look at his other threads he says "I have a 98 eclipse 4g63 with the stock garret T25 turbo"

It is turbo and they fail by quit spraying fuel. I checked the plug with a meter and all the plugs read the exact same as one another. The injectors I got are stock injectors from a DSM shop in Pinellas Park Florida. I have not checked the resistor pack yet. Where is that located and how do I go about checking it?

I know you are a 2g but it will look like this and probably in a similar location Joe. You will need an Ohm meter or multimeter to check the resistance of each one in the pack.

Ok so cylinder #4 fuel injector went out today again! Which leads me to believe that it is the resister pack. Does anybody know where I can buy a resister pack?

Measure the resistance of each resistor in the pack (post 3) before you go spending money buying new ones. Measure with them unplugged. One terminal (all red thicker wire) is common to all of them while the other 4 are connected to each.

02 sensors are brand new and it has a hks bov. It runs rich at idle and wot. I'm thinking it's the resister pack

So here's what I've done in the past couple of days.
New resister pack
New plugs
New ecu

What I have found though is that when I test the injectors that quit spraying fuel they still click. I tried shooting cleaner through them while clicking them and they don't work still. It's the cylinder on the driver side.

Any more ideas?!?!?!?

?

Assuming a US left hand drive turbo DSM, the driver side most cylinder (next to the timing belt) is #1.

From what you describing it sounds like the are plugging up which is strange for a single cylinder.

Can you post pictures of the bad injectors?

Youve just about covered all the outputs from the ECU all the way down to the injectors. Its time to start concentrating on inputs, such as the MAF causing an over driven injector... especially since its not the same injector failing all the time. Does the car run rich when run or does it fail before getting a chance to even drive it?
