i just picked up a 90 awd. feels good being back in a 1ga again! ill drive it for a bit ill harvest it eventually
1980 colt will be finished soon

i am proud to have a not bad hoard of parts growing here! 3 extra engines and probably 4-5 cars worth of parts!
of course nothing is for sale! ever!

hope to see another dsm at sir next year, i didnt see one the few times i was there
 
Yeah I plan on having the Eclipse out next year, I've had no time or money this year for it.
 
Brandon are those engine's just cores or in running condition? take it your the guy who bought the few that were up not long ago?
Glad you got another 1g. Been meaning to ask how long did you have my shell sitting around for?

I just got my short block back from the machine shop last week, I still need to pick up more parts yet tho (ARP head and main studs, top end seal kit, oil pump, oil pan, lower timing cover, BSEK, oil filter housing to oil cooler lines, Timing belt kit). Feel free to donate!!! haha :p
Also going to ask Andrew if he can hooking me up with coating some engine mounts, brackets etc.
Sadly I no longer have an garage to work in tho so I'll have to hoard parts until I can find a place to do the build and swap. :-(

Anyone have a good 14b kicking around? I just blew the oil seals on mine again.....7th turbo in 2 years/28k km man these odd's look bleak. I can't get my oil pressure under control, even Justin's rebuilt turbo was no match.......5k km DONE!

We'll have to arrange a day to possibly meet at SIR next spring, maybe race each other even!

i have enough 14bs to keep me going for a few years hehe
 
I have a spare but I don't want to sell it.

It can't be just the bse causing insane oil pressure, what bearing tolerances are you using for this new engine? where is the turbo oil feed from?
 
i know when i did a balance shaft removal, my oil pressure was so high i immediately pulled it back apart and ported the oil passage in the oil filter housing, that did nothing, so then i cut the spring and oil pressure was back where it should be
 
Im still running my 7 bolt, its the one with crazy high oil pressure. I've ported the oil bypass valve as much as possible and cut the spring twice already. I know for a fact its the cause of me going through so many turbos, they'll have zero shaft play yet be gushing out oil into the ic piping.
As for the oil clearences for my new engine i asked precise to write it down for me so i can double check.....they didnt. So i have to go over everything thoroughly this winter before i assemble it.

ya that's crazy light Brandon. Would you be interested in selling a 14b or loaning one out? I've had to basically stop driving my car because every 100km I need to add 1/2 quart of oil!

Ya mike mines fed right from the head like factory. I'm ordering some rebuild kits next week but they'll still take 2-3 weeks to show up....
 
i am going to put a bunch of parts on kijiji soon but ill be asking too much for them so they wont sell
i only have 3 14bs and i might sell the 90 so id be down to 2 so i have none to spare
i have an evo3 16g for sale, $500 im asking big bucks but it comes with an evo3 exhaust manifold and 02 housing.
 
Would ya mind lending me a 14b for a few weeks? Just til my rebuild kits come in, if it blows i'll throw you a rebuild kit as compensation. If i wasnt building a fresh engine i'd wouldnt have second thoughts about snaping up the e3 16g.

Ive got 4 14b CHRA's but they all have blown seals. Im placing a order for a few rebuild kits this monday.

i would just wait till your new engine is done.

i would trade you my e16g setup plus a full fmic kit plus an eprom ecu
for ecmlink
im sure you wont take that deal but i figured id offer
 
I understand totally i was just curious.
Its not going to be done till after winter, and driving a diesel in winter sucks if your not going for a long drive. Its the main reason i have my talon....winter beater LOL.
I wish i had ecmlink!! I really need it as well.
 
So, whats going on guys? Seems so slow right now around here.

My 1g is sitting in storage under a cover for the winter, but the 2g Spyder is getting some love this year. Pulling the motor to replace a damaged rad support, fix a small touch of strut tower rust, and give it a thorough cleaning / paint. I will also be replacing the top on the car, and getting any and all maintenance up to date.

This summer I would like to do a few small mods to the car, but it is going to stay mostly stock, its just an awesome summer cruiser car and dont want to do anything crazy. After all, I have the 1g for that.
 
Nothing new here, I'm just hoping I can save up for parts come spring.
 
Well i just order ecmlink today and sent my ecu off. Other then that its only been waiting on parts, my turbo rebuild kits should be in soon hopefully ecmlink will follow shorty after.

How much does a spyder top run out here??

nice. i wish i would have bought link when our dollar was good. now im finding it hard to do. thats got to be $1000 said and done

Ya i wish i would have too, even just last year it would have been 200 cheaper. But ya it cost a little over 1k with shipping it there and back. I really just getting sick and tired of dealing with over boost issues and running rich etc so i figured now or never for link. Andrew said he'd help me dial it in, gotta see if that offers still on the table.

No i didnt buy a spyder, that question was directed at greddy 1700.
 
The spyder top (complete kit with canvas, glass heated window, headliner, bow pads, and tension cables) runs about $700ish USD. So itll run me just over $1000 I am guessing.

Side note, just renewed my ASME membership, Credit card conversion rate as of Tuesday... 1.3959. Ouch... Definitely going to put a delay on any upgrades for the spyder thats for sure.
 
yeah i think ill just challenge myself to get in the 11s without link. for me link would mostly just be beneficial for monitoring knock and diagnosing problems. if i buy link and put a big turbo on it wheres the challenge.
 
I wish I could get Link for the 3000GT, it was the best money I spent for the Eclipse.
