Last night, I didn't even get a txt...my brother @talonesi95t was already at my house, ready to get the trans installed by the time i got off wrk! Huge help!

Anyhow, after a few, yet minor hiccups, we got the trans installed:

Major parts are done and settled in...now onto the tedious task :/

Nothing much has been done, just a few minor things:

Brother installed new bearing and seal on halfshaft:

Then went out to @talonesi95t work shop and decided to do my 1st caliper rebuild unsupervised OMG we'll find out if that was a bright idea in the future :p

In all seriousness, it was pretty easy LOL

Got the 1st done:

Before I knew it I was done with the set:

Cleaned up the bolts and gave em a fresh coat of clear:

Torqued em down to 65ftlbs:

And that sums it up:

Yes insides of pistons are nasty but they gonna get dirty anyways :/

Real quick--bearings and hubs came in:

Start installing some parts:

Since rotors and pads aren't here, it's prop a good time to install the calipers brackets for the 3kgt BBK...which I seem to have lost...yea. I'm facking pissed.
So in my rage, looking for that damn flat rate box, I find something else...a gawtdayum FULL set of axles sitting in the trunk of the talon. This is awesome but devastating at the same time due to the fact that I already ordered the pass side and had the boot repaired on the driver side.

Gonna give the search another day but if all fails, I will have to order me another pair

Got my 2GB Eclipse headlights retro fitted by SD_Retro :) Super happy with them!

Just waiting on brake lines...

Did this a while ago LOL like 2 months ago

But then the XD9s went on the GS so I needed some wheels to clear the bbk...luckily I have a brother who owns an MR Evo and had extra wheels :D got a great deal on these 18' BBS Wheels:

If you see in the pervious pics, the coils where set pretty high...too high. Literally sat at about stock height, therefore; I about maxed em out. Still about half inch of threads left:

Really only need to find time to start on this thing. Really wanted a shield from Tim but he plays tight :p

That's all I got. It'll prob just sit in the garage all winter along with Goldfish. Unless my brothers come over and help me out :p

How much did they charge for the retrofit?

From what I recall, it's parts plus 80-100ish labor then shipping. Don't quote me on that, as it's a rough est at this point.

While forums are still a thing, let's put it to use.

Long story short - I gave up on this build and sold a lot of the parts after discovering some concerns with the engine I bought. Brothers bought a bunch of the misc things and I hadn't looked back.

Fast forward to last year, my brothers (@GSTsiAWD & @talonesi95t) had spare parts laying around and pieced the old shell together to gift me a winter beater.

Two years ago, the local PD station caught some fire damage and needed to relocate to a different building...the building I worked in is owned by the city, therefore; we inevitably got kicked out. Granted, the company was already in the works of relocating as they had recently purchased another facility, 25 miles away. So, the move was bound to happen, just a lot sooner than anticipated.

Anywho, when I purchased my rig, 4x4 was not on the list as I only had a single mile commute. Now driving 50 miles round trip, winter season was a bit sketch for the short cab, but some sandbags and winter tires did wonders. This is where my brothers decided to get me under some AWD traction.

My older brother (@GSTsiAWD) provided a freshly OEM rebuilt 4G63 that my oldest brother (@talonesi95t) put together. Older brother also provided the headlights, t-case, trans, evo wheels and a bunch of other misc parts. Oldest brother did most of the installs and various other components to get this back on the road.

Granted, being me and my luck, the trans got chewed up on the 1st outing - tbh, I failed to look at the level of fluid in the trans and that was that...oddly enough, it still shifted great, just made a metal on metal noise. Luckly, my oldest brother had another spare trans/t-case and threw it on. Made it's first drive home and to work this morning. Needs some serious suspension work such as ball joints, tie rods and such but I hope to make it through this winter before I get to all that.

Moving forward, plans are to simply make it reliable and dependable...yeah, yeah, DSM doesn't like those words, I get it :shhh:

That is all for now. :heystupid:
