I've been through every weight reduction thread on here but people always talk about carbon and fiberglass. I want to know how light you race guys are getting your 1g's with all metal. If your race weight isn't something you don't want on a public board, feel free to PM me

With a fiberglass hatch, I was able to cut almost 500lbs and that's still with factory wheels and tires. Factory glass all around minus the hatch.

Care to share more details on how you got to that weight?

Its track only car so all interior is gone. only have driver seat and half the dash. pop up headlights were removed and the hoods of them were welded to the hood, No power steering, AC, still have heat to defrost windshield. I have removed all sound deadening material from the inside of the car. I will update my build thread with new pics of interior and engine bay.

Well I was able to get the car down to 2100 without seats or intercooler. That's with factory wheels so with the new wheel setup and coilovers, I should be right back at 2100lbs with seats and intercooler added

Nope it's a 91 gsx that still has functioning flip up headlights and even wipers

I don't post exact details publicly due to locals searching around for exactly what the car has. Aside from seats, the interior looks bone stock forward of the b pillar. I may even put the rear interior plastics back in

I'll PM anyone detailed pictures. Just send me a message if you're interested

2100 for an AWD setup is pretty much the lightest Ive ever heard. I didnt even know you could get a 3100 pound car down to that safely. Is that with a cage and driver ? PM'd

That is without cage and driver. I still have little odds and ends to add so my end goal is somewhere around 22-2300 without driver. If I really wanted, I'm sure I could keep it at 2100lbs but I want to keep the carpet, door panels, dash, glass, etc
