so I was driving my car, wasn't beating on it or anything and I went to push in the clutch and I felt something in the Pedal and all of a sudden the pedal got really soft and it's normally really hard because I do have a ACT 2600 in it. I changed out the master b/c it was leaking on the inside of the car. I bled the whole system and the pedal is still soft. I guess the next step would be to change the slave. I'm just curious could it be anything else that's making it feel soft besides the hydraulic system?

How did you bleed the slave? Did you compress the slave piston until it bottomed out in its bore while bleeding? If not, you're doing it incorrectly.

Are you confident you got all of the air out of the system?

One way or another, it sounds like there is air in the system. Now, that could be because the system isn't completely bled, or another bad component is allowing air back into the system. If you're confident it's bled, then that only leaves the latter.

Yes the car still shifts just goes into gear really hard and the clutch grabs totally diff then it did before this happened. I replaced the clutch master and I have a new slave cylinder coming tomorrow. And yes all the air is out of the system I use clear tubing that I put on the bleeder so I can see if there is still air in the system

What do you mean by check the pedal?? And I just finished installing a new slave and it is still soft and I also put in a new master I'm wondering what could of gone wrong

Can anyone post a pic of what to check on the pedals? And could that be causing a weak clutch b/c like I said I have a 2600 in it and it was heavy as hell. And as for the bell housing bolts I noticed them a little loose about 2 weeks ago and it was separating but I tightened them back up and my car was fine up until yesterday. I'm just trying to think what could of broke like I.E. The clutch fingers or something

If you push your clutch to the floor and release it does it come all the way back up? if u can grab the pedal and pull it up more I believe that's a sign the pedal assembly is worn out. I have seen them wear out shortly after HD clutch installs before

Make sure the master cylinder and slave are OEM. Otherwise you can run into problems with ones that local parts stores will give you. And bleed it correctly. Could be the pedal assembly as well if not the clutch could be worn.

There is prolly about a total of 10,000-15,000 miles on my clutch and street lite flywheel. And I see you guys talking about and mentioning the pedal assembly.....now could something go bad on the pedals and cause it to have a really light feel as opposed to it being heavy due to the 2600. Does anyone or can anyone post s pic up of what could go bad on the assembly to cause it to have a really light pedal? And the clutch still operates it just goes into gear really hard now and the pedal grabs twice as high as it did before this all happened. Pretty much I can't get it into first when the car is running either I have to turn the car off then put it into first or reverse, as for the other gears it will go in when the car is running just goes in very hard

The pedal assembly bends, and it's common to have to replace them. You have to look at it. Also if it's grabbing at a different point the master cylinder is bad or not bled right. Those crappy aftermarket ones do that. Which is why I asked if it was OEM.

I'll reiterate what other posts have said before. Definitely check for air in the system. It can be tiring to do. Check the pedal assembly to see if it's bent and also the pedal rod that connects to it. I know there's a procedure on proper adjustment, I just don't have the link on hand.
If you're getting new slave/master cylinders, go with oem. I've had many horror stories of aftermarket ones. It's worth the couple of extra dollars.
Another couple of things though-check your line for sharp bends that could be affecting the flow of fluid.
With the bleeder screw, check to make sure it's not loose/stripped out (you'd be surprised how many buddies have ran into that issue).
Not sure if shifter bushings or cables would cause what you're experiencing either, but it's worth a check.
Those are probably the easier things to check without digging into the transmission.

Ok guys I haven't really messed with my car much since the original post. Yesterday I decided to try to figure somethings out. As for the OEM master and slave that's what I went with as for the pedals I did the test pushing it all the way down then pulling up on it and it does not come up anymore. Yesterday when I had the car running I noticed that there seemed to be a lot more noise in the trams area then before this happened I always had that typical TOB noise when the pedal wasn't depressed and when I would push it in the noise would go away but yesterday it seemed like it was a lot louder. I had a thought that Mabey one of the arms on my clutch fork snapped off but is still connected to the TOB due to the clip holding it on and Mabey that's why my clutch feels so light because Mabey only half of my fork is pushing down onto the pressure plate. I would think if one of the 2 arms was snapped off or possibly bent it would Mabey cause a light pedal because the fork and TOB are not pushing on the whole surface area of the pressure plate. It just seems like a thought considering it is making more noise then it was before
