I've been looking to purchase a Jim 6bolt and haven't been happy with the reviews from some of the vendors in the area. I was wondering if anyone has had any good experiences?

Erm well evos never came with 6 bolt so good luck on that for starters! And just ask an evo 1-3 owner anywhere as he will gladly swap! They complain they are not as strong as our engines even thiugh they are practically the same but they are not from what they all say! I had one try to pass his onto me once LOL i just walked away.

They always complain more about engine failure espically here they do anyway, so if your intent on it just ask for a direct swap with an evo 1-3 guy and he/she most likely will unless its been rebuilt

If you need a new Jim 6bolt try eBay haha. Just joking, if you need a new motor I would look at the vendors on this site. There's a couple that can easily make what you want. You can also check out my friend Brian Terhune, he's the mistuman!

I thought the US market had the 6 bolts only! Guess i am wrong

I got 2 of them from soshin usa but that was back in 2001 and 2003. Had them shipped to my uncles shop. Didn't have any issues with them and they were in really good shape.

Im looking for a JDM 4g63 engine, which i believe came in 89-92.5 vehicals. The venders in the area have questionable reviews at best.
Wait wait why do you want the JDM engine? Honestly there's nothing special except you can say "Oh the engine is from Japan". The Cyclone IM (more low and midrange less top end) is really all they have that's special. And thats only even helpful IF you have all the electronics to control it. So why not just get that manifold and electronics if thats what you want. Or even better have a vendor on here build you something in your HP range and have it exactly what you want. Doesn't get better than that.

Edit: here- http://roadraceengineering.com/4g63motorsearch.htm

The "Jdm" aspect of the engine doesn't mean anything to me as any long block you can purchase from a vender online will be jdm outside of a junk yard. I was just interested in getting an entire engine to tear down for a build. I purchased a shortblock locally instead. Buying an engine without inspecting it first is asinine atleast in my eyes. These companies create warranties that leave you with little option if the engine is junk. So they can go :f-u:

Technically, every 4G63 powered DSM owner can say that. They didn't assemble the engines here, they were shipped over to be installed in the cars.
