Hey all,
I need some help with my exhaust. I have a HKS catback (cat removed) welded to my downpipe that an exhaust shop made for me. How they did this was, cutting the stock downpipe after the flange and bend from the o2 housing side. Then welding up a bigger 3 inch I believe pipe to the catback. I really need to open up the exhaust more, should I buy another downpipe and weld it to my catback. Or take it to the exhasut shop and have them weld up a bigger flang to pipe towards the o2 housing.

*I understand this maybe hard to explain I will do my best to clarify and also post pictures tomorrow.

I would get a new down pipe and have a flange welded onto to the exhaust to bolt up to the downpipe.

From what you are typing, it sounds like you an aftermarket cat-back exhaust welded to the stock down pipe. You could do either option you have stated. My advice would be to have a flange or coupler to have the ability to remove the down pipe without having to remove the entire exhaust. Imagine having to remove most of the exhaust to drop the oil pan.

Sounds good, would something like a vband clamp would work?

Yes of course, but not sure on what your budget is. On a budget, flanges or couplers of your choice will be sufficient.
