Injectors 3 and 4 spit once then cease to fire. If I take the connectors off injector 1 and 2 and plug them into injectors 3 and 4 they fire right up. My ECU has DSMLINK installed so I sent it in to ECMTUNING. The ECU tested ok. They went ahead and cleaned it up and didn't charge me for it. My camshaft sensor is new and my crankshaft sensor is new. I have a 7 bolt installed. My coolant temp sensor was bad so I replaced it with a new one. Timing is on. I went ahead and bought 2 new injector clips and wired them in. Still they only spit once and then stop. After I got the ECU back from ECMTUNING I plugged it in and now they don't even spit at all. My MPI Relay is good and so is the resistor box. Both were checked. Went ahead and got another resistor box and swapped it out and still nothing different. I pulled the harness apart and saw no cuts or splices. The car sat for a year while I was building the motor. Somebody else on this forum said they switched out their MAP sensor and the injectors started firing. I haven't tried that yet. Difference is they had a 1st gen I have a 2nd gen. Could that work too. Asking first cause the sensors a $100. Don't know if it helps but I have a MAF Translator installed with a 3inch GM MAF. My fuses are all good as well.

Any advice would be helpful.

Have you tested the injector pigtails for 3 and 4? Use a multi meter and make sure they are getting power. Also ohm test from injector pigtail to ecu harness to make sure the wires are fine. Also check the ecu harness end to make sure the pins look to be in good shape and are making a connection to the ecu.

I haven't look at the fuel pressure. I'll check that first. Then I'll check for continuity and ohms. As for the map ill see if I can borrow a friends.

I had the same issue but 1&2 ended up being a sh!ty connection at the battery then they worked just my .02

Well the fuel pressure reads 60 pounds when i crank it. Dont know if its still 42 at idle since the car doesnt run. Next ill try the continuity test but shouldnt the wires be good if the injectors are firing at least twice then stop firing?

cam and crank sensors can cut out 2 cyls.. how do u know they are working properly? i had the same prob and got fed up and wired in a 1st gen cas

I just bought the cam sensor. The crank sensor is 1yr old. So which should i buy first. The map or crank?

Well I bought the map sensor and nothing different. Gonna return it for a crank sensor and try that.

I checked continuity from the injector clip to the fire wall and it checked out fine. Next I checked from the injector clip to the ECU and that checked out fine. I checked for pulsing and only injector 1 & 2 pulse. 3 & 4 don't pulse so I stuck a paper clip in injector 1 pin and jumped it to injector 3 pin just to see if it fires and it did. Any ideas?

Bad resistor pack on firewall maybe.

1. Disconnect the resistor connector.
2. Measure the resistance between terminals.

3. If the resistance is out of specification, replace the resistor.

I tested the resistor pack with a ohm meter and it tested out fine. I just checked 3 & 4 injector clips with a test light to see if they pulsed and they do. They don't pulse at the ECU though.

I switched out the ignition control module with another I had and nothing happened. Don't know if they are good or not. I need to test them.

I would swap ECU's next, possibly crack it open and see if you can check the connection that you are testing. Also how would it pulse at the clips and not at the ECU? Do you mean they just have a good connection you verified but no signal?

The year is a 97. The Pinout layout I have say pin 2 and 15 is injector 3 and 4. Don't know if that's right. As for the pulse I have no idea why it does that. The pulse on the clip looks a little dimmer than the ones that are good. I've put 3 motors in this car and I never had a issue like this. I was thinking of buying a new MPI relay for the hell of it and trying that. I checked them and they tested fine.

The ECU has been tested at ECM tuning and it tested out fine.

Ok I stumbled across something now. I do get a pulse signal from the ECU through the wire harness only when injectors 3 and 4 are not connected. When I connect the injectors the pulse goes away. Any ideas?

Somebody on another forum told me to disconnect my cam sensor and see if my injectors fire to make sure my ECU is working. Sure enough they did fire. All of them. What now? Does this help to find the problem?

Well fixed the problem. Now all injectors are firing. The hydraulic actuator was brand new and was bad. It would only hold tension for a couple of turns. Didn't know til I was going to try replacing the crank sensor yesterday and notice it was like 1/4 turn out. I found a old one which didn't even match the new one so I looked up like a 95 one and that one matched up. I used an old one to put it on time and the injectors fired. Thanks everybody for your help. At least y'all helped me learn some more about this car.
