Has anyone done one? Seen one? I have an interest in this genre and thought it would be a cool way to do my Talon. The best comparison i've seen to the style i like is here http://mastahpiece.net/threads/71315/ done on a S14. Anyone got some good input on how to make it look good like the S14 aside from riveting some thin sheets of aluminum to the body?

Because I'm sure that in a post-apocalyptic existence, the foremost thing you want is camber. That looks horrid and the owner should feel bad for doing it. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever with the motif and it cheapens the loosely termed genre.

I suppose you could just sandblast the body, throw a gallon of aircraft stripper at it, rivet and weld some 16ga steel in various places and then throw on some mudslinger 16s on for off-roadin'.

Agreed, but of course its not for practical application, cambering S14s like that isnt uncommon. I like the look he went with though with doing the self tappers and rivets. ive got a flat black primer on right now to start off with so i wont have to repaint it. I could like u said put on some 16ga steel, just cut it out so it would fit the body and hood, make it look like armor

If you do go through with it do us a favor and do it to a salvage title car or something, there are so few clean DSMs left.
Yes please, Maybe buy a rolling chassis and if you like the results then you can clean up everything and drop drivetrain and whatever else parts in.

Awhile back I had an idea for a post apocalyptic Baja Bug, using this roll cage and completely cover the car in a rustoleum rust color look. Never got around to it however.

IMO, the Eclipse wouldn't look that great as a post-end times car. But that's just me. Haha

Yea that was sweet looking.

This is mighty car mods "mad max s15"

I toying with doing my eclipse. It was given to me free with front end damage. Straightened out the front and had to build a hood to fit. Here's where she stands

I like the look the gtr has, part thrown together, part graffiti, part mad max. I think if you did it right, moderate cage, it'd look pretty awesome. But I agree, don't do it on a good bodied dsm, find a 400 dollar junker somewhere if you're going to hack it up

Please post pics and a thread if you follow through with it :)

Hey there, just found this thread and thought that should revive it. Any progress on this at all? I'm kind of throwing the idea around with mine also.

I had mine as a post-apocalypse cruiser. Took it to bare metal with a disc sander, used pop rivets for body panels, and welded up the push bar from scrap metal.
Colorado climate is arid so it never really got as rusty as I hoped it would. I got tired of it and repainted it after two years but it was fun while it lasted. Everybody liked it and wanted to know what kind of car it was.
Here's how it looked in the first few months. I have some photos of it all rusty but they're on my old Windows XP laptop. I'll try and dig it out of the closet and post the rusty photos.
