Hey guys I am getting ready for the Ga 1/2 mile event again which will take place in about 3 weeks on sept 12th and 13th. What I need from the community is to go to this page and scroll down and like my car, it looks really lonely amist all the v8s. two months ago I was the 18th fastest out of 135 cars but had several major issues all these issues has been fixed and I am looking to really impress for I will be making my first pass full boost unlike before inching up the boost , having concerns about being able to stop. Again thanks for the support and I will post the results and videos later. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.931515143578390.1073741855.124932850903294&type=3

My previous run with many issues post 22 and 26 contain videos. http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/ga-1-2-mile-i-am-in-this-year.489946/

Ok fellas since the dsm cummunity don't want to show love to its own it's all good. It's not going to change the outcome. The silver street beast will continue to act as lone wolf as it had since 2003. I will post results any way. Oh by the way the likes gets the dsm in promo videos that's why I started the thread. I guess we dsms are a dying Breed for real!

It's all good bro. Just saw a lots of viewing no responses that's all. My conclusion is not a complaint but sureal dsm's just really my be dying. Anyway I going to represent us well its all good!

Goodluck man. What's your goals this time around? Over 157mph and Trans holding up? What changes have you made?
Yeah the trans 3rd 4th hub slider broke at the last event just finished up the bulletproof build yesterday. My goal definitely faster than 157 for sure.

I'll be there in spirit, Kel.

Good luck, and we better get some good video from the event!

Sweet, man. Aside from the new trans, any major changes to the car since the last event?

Well I ran the last event with some issues that hurt my performance big time. I sent my jmf in to have a large crack in it and I also sent my turbo back to precision to replace the turbine wheel something , maybe the weld from my jmf manifold, damaged it.

Here's the manifold after it was welded. I will find the before picture.

Thanks fellas. Its count down time next week it's on! Transmission is installed car shifts are amazing!

Here's the crack during last half run.

Pic of refreshed engine. Replaced bearings and fixed a few issues. Oil pump was wpc treated while trans was out thought why not replace and examine 2 years of abuse everything looked perfect!

Okay sad day guys for me guys. I was going down the road today and tried to dodge a piece of truck tire laying in the middle of the road and low and behold the tire snatched off my oil filter and you know the rest. I will be assessing the damages and will start fixing the car. I will be down for a few months. I will post a pic of what the tire did later. okay I know the haters going to love this!:barf:

Sucks to hear man. I wouldn't wish an engine failure on my worst enemy. Those who'd laugh or applaud at that aren't true DSM'ers or men for that matter.

Fix it and come back stronger.

Damn dude, that sucks. I hope you dodged a bullet here!

Any you know what they say, haters gonna hate. Maybe you should lean how to drive and not hit $hit laying in the road?

Wow! That really sucks Kel. I was looking forward to seeing your results. So what happened? Did it rip the oil filter in half/break the stud off or it spun it loose?

I run a clamp on the filter as added insurance so it would never get loose, but if the stud brakes off, that's a different story.

It's been a long day almost like I lost my best friend still pinching myself but that only remind me that it's real. All my friends here are in total disbelief for the first time on these boards I am at loss with words! My son 19 look at me and knew that dad was hurt. I lost the 225 for the half mile and 625.00 for the cabin rented. Hey its all good though fellas I will be back for sure. Wanna go fast offered me a spot in January ocala To I will try and get the car ready by then...

It ripped the whole filter off stud and all I have pic's

I know it cost you an engine...but if the car isn't wrecked, that's a good thing. It's easier to rebuild an engine than it is to replace a clean, straight, rust-free DSM. For that matter, if you wrecked it could've seriously injured or killed you. I know it sucks, but you're walking away from this. Count that as a blessing.

Thanks Cracked and yeah you Right. I have the parts to fix the car, a true dsmer has his own grave yard of parts just takes time that's all.

Think of it this way, you get to go home to your kids, and they get to keep their father and not have to have him in a wheel-chair or a casket for the rest of their lives. You'll be back. Take it as some time off to research, learn more, and come back stronger. ;)

Thanks will do:cool:

Good news I dropped the oil pan this morning and found no bearing materials evidently I caught the catastrophebefore the carnage. This is promising for sure but I am going to take the oil pump off to inspect it. Removed the cam caps and the journalshop there also look fine. I am going to replace all the bearings this is goingto take some time just not enough for the event.

Did you shut it down as soon as you hit the debris and could safely get to the side of the road? I had an analog oil pressure gauge that sprung a leak in the engine bay 2x. I caught it both times before it emptied all the oil. After the second time I plugged the feed line, it wasn't worth the risk of totaling the motor.

Yeah caught it and pulled over.

I got the point thanks mucho!

Well pull the piston down this morning and the coating is still on the side skirt and no damage appears on the cylinder as far as I can see. Next will be checkingthe oil pump which was wpc treated pump case and gears.

Dang kels so bummed :(. I've learned that even though things seem bad up front. The Good Lord has a bigger and better plan in the works for ya. Praying that the Lord provide for you and also bless you thru all this brah!! ;)
Yeah stuff happen sometime.

Glad to hear nothing crazy was damaged.

I don't see any reason to pull the oil pump if there's no sign of metal in the pan and bearings.
