I have to add about a quart of oil to my 99 spyder every couple hundred miles or so because the oil is either burning, leaking, or both. It is only happening when the car is driving because there is no oil underneath the car. After driving the car for about 15-20 minutes the oil light will flicker on and off while the car is at idle then go away once I start driving. I recall reading somewhere that 4G64s had a common problem with burning or leaking oil, just cant remember where or what it was. Any ideas what might be causing this?

i dont mean age, i mean what do they look like? do thy have a film of oil on them?
do you emit blue smoke on startup, cold and hot idle or load?
have you performed a leakdown test? have you verified valve stem seals are good?
is any part of your subframe or ofh coated in a thin layer of oil?

The plugs have no oil on them and no smoke but there appears to be some oil the front right side of the block.

to lose that much oil and the front driver side of the block being partially covered in it, i would say a couple possibilities are that it is either dripping out when hot via a pan, front case, or filter housing sealing issue, or its being forced out from the oil filter gasket. possibilities to check.
