Ok peeps been on here since last October. Been doing a lot of searching, lot of reading on my all stock 99 Spyder. I love this car, so much fun to drive. So I finally got another vehicle to be my daily driver so I can start really working on my DSM other than regular maintenance stuff that I had been doing while she was my daily driver. One big question I have is do I rebuild my current engine or would buying a new short block from Satan be a better option in the long run? I've read alot of the horror stories on here about bad machine work. Even been victim to it years ago when I rebuilt my small block Ford. Glad I checked their work .. I've also contemplated a 6bolt swap. I am Leary of doing so because problems with CEL that I've read about and because I live in Phoenix and we have emission testing. My goals for this engine is 400 to 500 hp. But still street drivable. Wanna still be able hop in her and shoot up to Vegas if I want to. Reasons for rebuild: bad valve seals, high mileage, turbo going bad, broken exhaust studs, oil pump sprocket seal leaking, stripped out threads on front cover to oil pan, unknown mileage on current timing belt, and tensioners. Let me know what u guys think? opinions and constructive criticism needed. Just want to do this build right the first time...
