Hey guys, Finally was able to take the gsx out on a few pulls yesterday and I am completely stumped...What could cause the car to just shut off right when i get off boost? I did a 3rd gear pull to about 5500rpm and as soon as i let off the gas, i instantly feel my power steering go and the car shuts off.....any advice would be greatly appreciated

6 bolt
cop set up
jm fab intake
punishment fmic
greddy type-rs (recirculated)
20g turbo
not sure on the injectors, def bigger than our 450cc's
wally 255lph
fuelab afpr
fuelab fps
aem wideband
aem truboost gauge/controller
was tuned on safc2 but i had to zero it out when i set the fuel pressure back down to 43psi at idle with the vacuum line off. he previously had it at 66psi at idle. now i just have the safc2 tuned on my lo throttle setting with +8% so i wouldnt idle lean.

im lost....all the other tsi, gsx, gst's i have bought in the past have been stock, but this is already modded. so i dont know where to begin

Are you seriously retarded? No high throttle tune runnin injectors you dont even know? And you take it for a couple of hard pulls? I know 3 kids with dsms that are just like you. All their cars run like crap. Maintenance before anything else. Use your brain. Sorry if it seems harsh but thats what you need to hear. Do all your maintenance. Blt, compression, etc.

dude I have had this car for a week....I havent put anything on this car. I just now got it to where it would drive. anyone else have anything productive to say?

You need to figure out what injectors you have and tune for those first. If he had fuel pressure up thst high safc is probably not going to cut it.

Wasnt trying to be mean man but i am just being honest with you. I have seen it first hand in my town. Those people thanked me for my advice and i told them what i just told you.

I dont mean to come off as a ass or a non respectful guy but the only things I have done to the car have been minor basic crap from the time i got it....to be honest, i see where you are coming from though... i have changed the oil to the reccomended 10w30 ( previous owner was running 5w30) and replaced the fram filter with a oem filter, replaced plugs and made sure they were gapped correctly. my vacuum seems to be fine. -17-19 hg at idle and -24 once i let off the throttle. afr is all over the place. I posted this in the newbie section because honestly, this is all new to me, so call me retarded if you want, im just trying to get advice. Not get criticized by some jackass who knows all the stuff that I dont yet. But thanks

I see where youre coming from man, no doubt, and im sure once i get all this figured out, ill be thanking you too LOL just at a loss on what it could be

Thats what I am probably going to do, Just need to get the 450cc's and honestly im thinking about taking off my jm fab intake and putting a stock intake back on....thinking of getting all the other stuff he put on here off and going back as close to stock as i can until i get her running smooth again, and get link to properly tune her

I am your friend man. Use stock injectors like i said and research alot how to tune with safc2 then get er done. But do boost leak test like 5 times. Alot of the time you will seal a big leak, then after that a bunch of tiny ones will pop up. Check compression etc.

sounds like a plan to me...once again, apologies for how i reacted, thank you though. Should i take the 20g off and go back to a t25 on stock injectors? my boost is set at 10psi right now (since i didnt know what to expect on the first test pulls)

No prob man. The 20g will be ok at stock boost levels with stock injectors. You will most likely hit fuel cut at 10 to 12 boost levels but should be safe. Do a ton of research on what is in your car. It will help immensely.

Honestly, if it were me id rather not receive help from douche bags like you. If you think harsh words are necessary for automobile repairs and maintenance, id tell you to GTFO here! And then you try to clean it up by saying youre his friend. FU!

This type of response helps no one.

Its your car do as you please and there are people on here that can help you out without calling you an idiot or judging you.

As for your issue with the car. the first things you need to do is:
1. inspect the BOV recirculating pipe for any cracks or if it has slihtly slipped off . What kind of MAF do you have?
2. Do a boost leak test ASAP.
3. Check your ISC (hows your idle is your biss screw maxed out in any direction)
4. Check your IPS (idle position switch)

Let me know if you dont know how to check the things above.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, been out of town for work, but yeah I wil def need advice on checking the ISC and IPS LOL have never had to mess with those before
