Update: ST Lowering Springs Review
Well i thought i'd finally get around to doing a review on these springs since there isn't really much info and or feedback on them. Product right from the box was well package and looked nice with its powercoated grey color. It came with instructions but eh who looks at those anyways. Install was like any other shock and spring replacement and these springs gave me no problems with fitment. Overall a 40 bucks well spent for a lowered look on a 2g.

Update: StopTech BBK
The wait is finally over! I have real brakes on my dsm again and not a moment too soon. These stock brakes were not cutting it for me and they did not like slowing this boat down from a hard pull. I can't wait to get these things installed and start breaking necks from stopping :D

Update: Motor Overhaul Part 1
The time has finally come for myself to face the reality of this GSX of mine. I think my motor is knocking :f-u:
Ever since I bought this car in 2011 its has had a tick/knock going on. The previous owner told me it was lifters, which it did sound like but even after replacing them the noise came back. Im honestly amazed how this motor is still running strong and so smooth. It has never given me a problem since day one besides this noise. I've put about 30k on it since my ownership and that includes two dual map dyno session, a handful of 1/4mile dragstrip runs, and countless highway pulls. I figured to time to do something about it before something really bad happens :D
Boost on my friends :dsm:

Update: Motor Overhaul Pt.2
Second batch of engine parts are came in and now the only thing left to do is pull out the actual motor
This will be my first real attempt at pulling out a 4g63 while caring for what is connected to it. I've parted out a couple of DSMs/Evo and went to town on whatever was holding me back from pulling out the motor. So now going against my norm of cutting everything i want to shall be a challenge. Wish me luck :dsm:

Update: Engine Removal
This was by far one of the hardest things I've had to do by myself and in 100 degree weather. I was a bit nervous about this whole process because didnt want to forget what went where and or lose important bolts. I took the extra time to label everting and put back bolts from where they came from after a pieces was removed. Nothing looking forward to putting the motor back in :toobad:

Update: Engine Tear Down
Looks like it back to the drawing board again for me. The tear down revealed more than i was expecting. I honestly dont know how this motor was running so well with what I found inside. I knew it was too good to be true! A Dsm that never gave me a problem in the 4 years and 30k miles had to have something up its sleeve. Got to do some deep thinking on where to go from here :dsm:

hey man, just wondering how much did it cost to run on the nurburgring with that ford?
Well the total cost ended up being spilt two ways because my friend also ran the ring with me. I rented the car and he bought the track laps/gas. I believe the total in the end was around $147 euro each and that included: car, gas, 4 laps (2 for me 2 for him), and extended time with the car (8hrs).

UPDATE: New Build Plan
School is over and with that being said I can officially build the racecar I've always wanted. I've set of budget of 5-6k for this car and I'm hoping to stick to that as best as i can. I will be using the same turbo setup as before but everything aside from that will be new. Stay tune!

Congrats on making it though nursing school. :thumb: I'm currently done with my first semester for the ASN RN program. Also, good luck with boards and looking foward to the build.
Another fellow Murse! I wish you the best of luck with school because boy was it a challenge, but you got this. Im so happy that im finally done with my program but now comes boards :(

More videos to come!

Update: New motor
Well i got good news and bad news. The good news is that i finally got a new heart for my 2g with forged internals (Wiseco Pistons & Eagle Rods). However... This motor had a little surprise for me waiting inside as i tore it down for clean up and inspection.

Update: New Suspension Setup
Its about damn time I added proper suspension to this car. It's been about 3 years since I last had coils on my 2g because i hated how most of them preformed. I ended up sticking with stock springs and struts for some time before i switched over to some lowering springs and new struts. I honestly believe that my cheapo 300 struts and spring combo performed better than the past coils I've had on this car. However, the time has come to take suspension serious again and install some proper coils on this bucket.

Update: TRE Stage 3 Transmission
One thing I never liked about my eclipse was it's transmission. Switching between my evo and dsm there was a night and day difference in shift characteristics and drivability. So I knew I had to replace it with a new one that could compete with the evo unit.
Given the power goals I am going after, I knew my stock trans was a ticking time bomb. And with that being said, I called up Jon at TRE and asked him if he had any of his stage 3 transmission in stock. Lucky for me he had 97 stage 3 ready to go. I really can't wait to break this thing in and bang some gears.

Sweet Jon rebuilds mines too just got another built local to me nice build.
Yeah Jon, is an awesome guy. When i first got in contact with him we talked for about an hour LOL. Im sending my Tcase and diff to him soon for some TRE Love.

Glad you went with feals again. I love mine for Autox but I went with a little softer setup then you. I love the way the handle and they are comfortable too! Can't wait to see some action videos from this car
To tell you the truth I was thinking about going stiffer in the rears. Something like a 12k front and 10k rears but I forgot I got something special in the works for the rear sway bar to help this pig rotate more. Stay tune

Update: RRE 25mm Rear Swaybar
The latest gem that ill be adding to my build is the thickest rear swaybar available to the 2g platform. This swaybar ends up measuring in at 25mm compared to the stock 12mm that does absolutely nothing for these car. Everything is pretty much finished and just needs to be welded up together, however RRE needs my car for that which doesnt run at the moment LOL. So the final install will have to wait just a bit longer. Enjoy

Update: Throttle Body Rebuild Difficulties
I've rebuilt a couple of Evo 8 throttle bodies before but never a dsm one. So when it came time to rebuild the one for my 2g, I was completely surprise how difficult these things were compared to Evos. I tried to make a tutorial but this ended up being a video of my struggles :( Enjoy

Update: AM Auto Headlights
If your headlights are faded and or cracking don't even bother trying to fix them. I forgot how cheap DSM parts were when it came to exterior items. These headlights are by far one of the best appearance upgrade I have done to this car. The quality looks great and fitment is also on point. I guess time will be the true judge of these headlights, but from first glance i wouldn't hesitate buying these lights again.

Update: Polyurethane Motor Mounts
Easy way to stiffen up that engine bay of yours for a low cost. :)
