So I've had a 1994 Dodge Colt for awhile. I bought it hoping to place a 4g63 in it. The time has come..or so I believe. My issues; the Colt is an OBD1 car and the engine plus wiring harness I have is for a 2g. What I need to do is figure out how and what part of a body harness I need to remove and wire to get an OBD2 port into the car.

Yes a 6 bolt and 1g engine harness would be awesome. I don't have the parts however and I'm wanting to use what I have. Any sort of help would work here as I am very new to the wiring aspects of these cars. Plus, this is a very unique project.

Thanks in advance!

The 4G in a CSM is not unheard of. There are some on this site that have done the swap although most used a 6 bolt motor. You may want to check out 4g61t.org to see more detail about this swap. I plan to do this swap on a 93 Mirage I purchased recently.

I know it is quite common but not with a 7 bolt nor a 2g/OBD2 setup. One can get an Evo.I-III setup but let's get real here. Where is one going to spend more? Sourcing an Evo.I-III engine harness, ECU and all that jazz? Or buying a parts 1g. LOL I'm going with the first one! I know over on MirageForums there is someone that did or was doing this exact swap but either didn't document it or changed his mind.

I don't spend much time on that other site. Maybe I could give it a try. Thanks.
