i put them in a while ago using dual micro screens(which was supposed to be temporary)with plans for a fmic but have not had funds to do it for stupid other things breaking(driveshaft namely). Is there a way people are squeezing these in tbhat Im missing? Maybe I need to hack off the turbo side of the intake?

This is what im workin with

Evo 8 maf will fit like stock on rubber intake.and $25 spectre air filter from extreme psi. Other wise I would have kept the 2g maf.

Not a fan of the runber intake. If i cant find a working pipe(dejon used to have one from what ive read) ill have to wait for front mount or finish up speed density. Just dont want to run the dual screens much longer

Well if you plan on going SD then I would throw on a 1g maf and filter untill then or not drive it. A good friend toasted a brand new turbo on an sti because of oil contamination.

Understand what youre saying but still doesnt answer my question. Ive seen pics of different pipes that work. But last i saw the dejon 1g tune w/ 2g maf from dejon is long gone

No room to rotate it. Thought of that. I need almost 8 inches less tube. May be a hack and welf project if i dont find something soon.

Hmm in that case i'd look into maybe cutting a bit out of the turbo side of the intake to shift the MAF toward the turbo. You may need to get a different coupler though if you do that. I'd look into that because at least on my Injen intake like that the opening on the intake was sized for a t25 and I would have had to cut it to have it not fit inside of anything else basically.

Please let me know what you figure out. I have a 91 gsx and am trying to fit a 2g maf in it and am having a hard time even with a fmic. I still don't have enough room. Where did you get the micro screen from?

Im just about ready to go full speed density. No one has the right tubes anymore.

The screen is from some 1950s windows that i replaced. You should be able to get it at any home depot though. I doubled mine up but its still going to suck fine dust down inside.

Ive also seen people rip apart k&n filters and sandwhich the paper element in between the screens.

Speed density with sensors is $100. Finding a damn tube will cost you around that or more to have it fabbed.

Thanks for the reply. Not sure about an SD setup, I do have ECMlink, but not sure I want to go down that road. Is it pretty in depth? This is my daily driver.

Mines a daily too... no its not hard and their cable makes it plug n play once you install map. You can even forget the IAT sensor until you find someone to weld the bung in.

I wan6ed to stay on maf but dont want to daily with my mesh screen

I hear ya bro. I have a small air filter coming on Thursday, that is my last ditch effort to get the 2g maf to fit, if that doesn't work, I might be looking at the SD route.

Since you have already changed from the stock MAF, why not go GM MAF? WAY smaller than 2g, and is round. Cable from ECMLink is $85. Could sell your current setup to offset some costs.

In order to do the gm maf id have to install a fmic with a spot for the maf.. fmic is in the plans just hasnt happened yet. If it did id have plenty of room for my 2g maf as well...I could go speed density for about that cost and scrap the maf altogether... hmmm anyone need a 2g maf?

I have a question for you guys that have done a 2g mas into a 1g. Did you get engine codes when you did it? I just checked in link and I had 2 codes, 13 (IAT manlfunction) and 25 (Bar pressure circuit malfuntcion). I assume these are from when I put the 2g mas into my car to see if my connector worked. Should I be pulling these codes with a 2g mas, or did I solder the wires wrong?

if you wired it in right you should have no codes

1G TURBO MAF

1 - Idle position switch
2 - Air flow sensor (signal)
3 - MPI control relay
4 - 5V power supply
5 - None
6 - Ground
7 - Barometric pressure sensor
8 - Intake air temperature

2G TURBO MAF

1 - 5V Power supply
2 - Barometric pressure
3 - Air flow sensor
4 - MPI control relay
5 - Ground
6 - Intake air temperature
7 - Volume Air Flow

Just go 1 wire at a time and make sure you lined them up correctly.
