You will get by just fine using a 1g or Evo IX bov, the boost levels you'll be running you don't need a Tial. I was just simply saying that when you start making power a good quality bov is a Tial...

If you're going to run a Speed Density (SD) setup the the Tial Q (unrecirculated) will work, if you're sticking to the stock MAS then you'll want to recirculate your bov so you'd want the Tial QR. A 1g/Evo IX bov will function just fine on a SD setup though, you don't NEED a Tial, HKS, Greddy, etc. bov.

Everyone's got their own goals/ideas, it's your car and money so modify and spend it how you see fit. My DSM originally had a HKS SSQV, not because I needed it but because I liked the sound. Once I started running 30psi my HKS SSQV couldn't hold the boost so I had to get something that could reliably hold boost, which is when I upgraded to a Tial. Personally, I recommend you lean towards a OE replacement like the 1g/Evo IX bov's because you can find them for fairly cheap (leaving you money to spend on something more important) and they'll work perfectly fine with that setup.

Just curious, how did you know the hks wasn't holding under boost? Boost leak tested to 5 over your boost goal and it started to open or did you spike to your boost goal then taper off?

It was opening at 10psi when I did a BLT. It was 4yrs old once I started 30psi and it worked fine, then I started going really rich under boost. I did a BLT and that's when I found it started opening around 10psi and it would keep opening the more boost I put through the system.
