Well guys, after a long absence from the site along with being out of country I am back. I pulled my car out of storage and welded up the seam on the radiator that had busted after a previous mishap. After pressure testing it, I reinstalled everything and prepped the car for start. Good Power, Fuel pump is running with good fuel pressure and I held the start button, after a couple of cranks the car fired right up.....then I smelled fuel...and heard it also like water flowing!!!! YIKES!! Hit the kill switch and jumped out. Sure enough, there was a tear in the fuel line right were it goes through the floor board and feeds to the Fuel Pump. Come to find out while I was out of country my dad had to done some re arranging in the shop and he put a bunch of crap in the back of the car. He should have known better being as hes a car guy and I grew up in the pits of the dirt track working on his Street Stock. But at any rate I figure the weight of something pushing and rubbing on the line must have tore the line. I'm not sure how I missed it seeing as Ive spent the last week going over every inch of my car making sure all the lines were good, good fuel, good oil, good spark...everything......Now I'm ordering some new line, What I don't get is this, If I had a tear in the line how was it able to maintain good fuel pressure???? Maybe the line just gave way after the fact. but the fuel pressure never dropped once! I am waiting for the fuel to evap so I can go wipe it down. Ill try to keep up on the forum as much as possible guys. My life has been really hectic since I returned over 6 months ago. But things are slowing down a bit.

PS I got Married, and lost an old friend of 20+ Years to PTSD (RIP Bro) All in a few months of returning home..Crazy

What's in store for the car? Back to the track, or what?

Thanks for your service and sorry about your bro may he rest peacefully...

I like they way your car looks, looks pretty mean!! Even though I haven't been around for very long, I always get a :hellyeah: when I see members with over a decade on the forums either return or never leave.

Rock on brother:thumb:

I'm in the middle of relocating now. My wife daughter and I are moving to Colorado so I can go to school. I plan to return the car to the track. I might not race full time. But I plan to make some runs. There are a couple of events I would like to do with my father so we are changing the car up a bit. Adding a passanger seat. I keep wanting to change the look of the car but about the time I get the guts to do it I'm always backing down. The car is just way sexy as she is. I have some minor body repairs to do to her though. I'll show you guys some pics first chance I get. Sometimes I think storage is harder on a car then actually racing it. Nice to be back guys.

Ps it would be nice to know
what Greg is up to these days. sorry for the bad grammar, posted from my M8

Welcome back! First off I am sorry about your loss.

I am seriously excited to see this car again, was just talking with another long time dsmer about it and the good ol days with Greg Collier and the "flying banana". Please do not change the look of the car! Glad to see you're still taking care of it and plan to get it back on track.

I wont change the look, But the car is in some serious need of paint on the front bumper plus I need to do some fiberglass work on it. Nothing major, just some stress cracks from time. Anyone know the color code for the yellow paint? As far as look goes, I am just going to change some interior stuff. I want to coat/paint the inside of the car and maybe some undercoat just to clean it up and prevent any rust. I took a lot of pictures all around the car and have them stored just in case the car ever needs something done I will be able to return the car to how she was. By the way, I was prepping the car for start and I had the biggest spider I have ever seen living inside the compressor housing of the Turbo...I freaking hate large spiders!

Yeah welcome back and thank you for your service! Also, sorry for the loss of your friend. I agree with keeping it the same as much as possible. Glad you still have it and have not given up on it. :thumb: Good luck with everything and LOL at the spider in the turbo... I hate them damn things too! :f-u:

I remember seeing this car in a book and the caption said it was FWD. Pretty unique car. Glad to see it back in the game!

You'll love it here in CO...no rust! Maybe I'll catch you at one of the tracks. Be cool to see that car in person.

I'm sorry about your bro. May he rest in peace. Prayers with him.

The car is FWD and it sure can make traction a pain in the rear through the first couple of gears. I have thought about going AWD with her...but it was just a thought I entertained. I am doing some small things to the car right now. I'll post some pictures here in the next couple of days. Yeah, Montana is rust free as well...LOL. I love the fact that we don't use salt on the roads

Where in Colorado are you moving?

Glad to see the flying banana is going to see some action!

I hope to have her on the track sometime this spring or early summer. I have my work cut out for me though as far as life goes. I'm balancing a lot right now, but I hope things start slowing down later in the month and I can start moving forward at a faster pace with my plans.
