Im a electrical newb.

Car is a track car, ignition switch is gone and I have a push button start. Car was working fine, I now have a no crank issue. I replaced the starter without fixing the issue. It does appear that the signal wire on the solenoid does not energize when I try to start the car. I jumpered the clutch safety with no luck, I replaced the starter relay with no luck. I can hear two clicks, I think one is the old fuel pump relay ( which I bypassed anyways ) and the other click is the starter relay. If I remove the starter relay I get only one click.

I tried to circuit test the clutch safety and didn't not get the circuit light to light. That puzzled me, maybe my ground was no good. I also didn't find power on the 4 pins to the starter relay, but being upside down and contorted because of the cage my circuit tester doesn't really fit as part of the cage is in the way so I would have to redo that test. But Im pretty sure the relay gets power because of the click.

Any suggestions?

The starter relay is more of a safety interlock, on manual 1G's it's used to disconnect the 12v from the ignition to the starter. On a race car, I'd disable the CSS and bypass the starter relay so that the "wire" runs directly from the starter switch to the starter.

Where's the starter relay located?

I assume this means you don't have the FSM, you should really get one.
Under the dash to the left of the pedals.

As discussed in other threads, the starter circuit and function depends on if the car was a manual or automatic and if it had the theft protection or not originally. If at some time an aftermarket alarm was installed all bets are off.

For a race car the starter wiring can be streamlined to a switch that feeds 12v from the master ignition switch to the starter trigger connector.

My problem is that aparently is not getting 12volts when i turn on the key, so it only does a knock sound like the starter hitting the flywheel without enough power

If the sound is coming from the starter when you turn the key and you measured 12v at the trigger then either the main 12v from the battery to the starter is bad or the starter. Did you measure the voltage to the B+ stud on the starter?

can you jump the starter itself? if so you have a relay issue. for a 2g its 2 ignition relays
