Ok so I searched for a few weeks now but not really understanding much so I'll ask. Im completely rebuilding my block. 98 7 bolt split thrust block. Im using evo 8 pistons (yes, i know how to install them, but rest assured, a machine shop will be doing the build).

I know know I have to use evo piston rings but what i cant fint is an answer to what the gap on the rings should be. I see that the spacing of the rings should be 90* offset from each other and i also know the dot on the pistons needs to be facing the trans side and not the timing side. Someone please link me to the correct info instead of me reading countless threads on what people gapped their rings to.

My hp goals are going to be the 350-400 range using a FP HTA68 ported to house a bigger wheel. 38mm 2 bolt external wastegate, 880cc injectors, full 3" turbo back exhaust (cat-less), 264 cams, posibly getting an aftermarket intake mani, and i have dsm link v2 and a wideband. Turbo will be sitting pretty at 23 psi.

Im not sure if this info is needed but i dont have a parts list in my profile. Ples help with, any info possible and hopefully from someone running evo pistons in their 2g. Thank you for any help

First you do understand you will be lowering your compression with the evo pistons? They set lower in the block and the evo head is 43cc where the DSM head is 47cc

As far as gapping, just look for the factory Gap spec.
I doubt it will be much different than the factory DSM spec.

Or just run the math and figure what you should be for your boost level

The problem im running into is that i cant find oem poston rig gaps for a 2g and the rings im ordering don't say if they come with a sheet for the machine shop. Im going to be running max 25 psi. Evo pistons are also 8.8:1 CR so it wont be a significant difference but i am aware of the difference.. andd they were free LOL.

The machine shop that'll be doing the work was always given specs to follow while I just want to have a fun daily. NPR doesn't seem to have rings for the evo. And from what I have been reading, using ross or any other ings is a no no for some reason.

I know this is off topic but can't seem to find out the answer anywhere but do you happen to know if this thrust bearing fits this block correctly. It's my first 4g63 rebuild and I'm not to sure.
