Hi guys yesterday i went to the dragstrip and after the race when i took a good curve or make a u-turn my rear wheel hop and skip like my diff was locked ive read that it could be the rear or center diff how can i test this? My car is a 94 talon 5speed awd with the v-lsd and what are my options?:dsm:

I had 20-50 miles of use on that redline heavyshockproof oil i changed it yesturday and its still doing the same thing every tight turn or u-turn feels like i drive a drift car the rear is 100% locked..

I changed the oil in the rear diff and it was ok,i didnt check the tranny oil... if i broke my center diff there.will be metal pieces in my oil?

That possibility exists yea. I should've clarified drain your trans oil. That's where I thought it was in the first place.

No problem thx alot for the help i couldnt find any info and now that i look for broken center diff and not rear diff i find alot of info and people having the same symtoms as me..im gonna drain the trans this weekend and probably start the trans removal:dsm:LOL

You could have broken the center diff cross shaft and spider gears, it will need to be removed for inspection.

Cool im gonna start removing the tranny this weekend! :dsm:

you do not have to remove the transmission to remove the center differential you can but it is not totally necessary

Thx for the info ill do some research before tearin everything apart haha :dsm::talon:

You don't have to, but I prefer to considering you may have debris that has gone elsewhere in the transmission. Easier to clean it out when you have the transmission out of the car.

Im pretty sure i broke my center diff in my 2g awd. If come to find out did. what are my options? replace with stock, upgrade to 4 spider or welded, or can i purchase something like a Quafie lsd?

The Quaife center diff likes to fail because of gear tooth profiling issues. The best options are either weld the center diff if the lower and upper pinion gears are usable and the inside of the housing is trashed, OR replace with a brand new center diff converted to a 4-spider with the billet cross-shaft. The difference in cost is sizable though.
